Backstage at "The View" on meltdown day...

Little dribs and drabs conitnue to roll in regarding the O'Donnell-Hasslebeck showdown on "The View" last week which resulted in Rosie leaving the show three weeks ahead of schedule. I could post as item each day about some of the idiotic things Donald Trump says on whatever show will have him, often resorting to junior high school insults about Rosie's appearance. But I've decided that Trump has no clothes. He's an embarrassment and obviously no one close to hiom will tell him so.
Anyway, jn the new issue of People Magazine, "Dancing With the Stars" hunk Maksim Chmerkovskiy (he was Laila Ali's partner) tells what he saw from backstage on that infamous day. He says there were producers running out of the room with stone faces trying to deal with the escalating situation (I wonder if any of them suggested cutting to a commercial) and that Alicia Silverstone was "hypervenilating" because she had to go on stage and be interviewed by these warring women in the segment after the blow-up. She pointedly did not greet Hasdslebeck when she came out, but warmly greeted Rosie and Joy Behar...By the way, I've been watching the hot topics of "The View" post-Rosie and well, kind of a snooze now isn't it?

Greg Hernandez has covered the entertainment industry for the Daily
News since 2001. He's considered a bit odd by some for his obsession
with box office numbers, has been known to camp out near the kitchen
at premieres for first crack at the hors d'oeurves, and Greg's never
seen a red carpet he didn't want to stroll down.

Greg, we talk about this every time somebody leaves "The View" -- who do you think should fill the TWO open spots on the panel?
I don't think they'll tap Kathy Griffin, but that would be good.
Maybe Katie Couric -- she'll be available soon, I figure.
Whoopi Goldberg?
Maybe bring back Lisa Ling?
Other than that, I'm pretty tapped out on suggestions.

The only person able to replace Rosie for pure zeal is M Cho. Whoopie is so playing it safe this week and it is so dull. Then there is Wanda Sykes...
There ya go, Cho and Sykes.

I LOVE the idea of Margaret Cho! She would be perfect!!! She's smart, opinionated, and piss yer pants funny. That is genius!
