Melinda Doolittle is still a winner...
Not winning "American Idol" certainly didn't hurt the career of Jennifer Hudson and, of course, Clay Aiken has sold a record or two and on and on. So Melinda Doolittle - the best singer this season - not making the finals in something of a shock result will not be the end of her. She will record a CD and millions will buy it and who know what else is in store for this talented and humble vocal wonder.
I gotta say, I was pretty shocked by the result. Had dinner at El Mirasol, my favorite Mexican place in Palm Springs, and when I got home to catch the last five minutes of the show and saw Melinda being shown the door, thought maybe I heard wrong because I drank a margarita the size of my head. But, no mistake. I think maybe the "I'm A Woman" number didn't grab fans the way a big ballad would have so maybe that's what did her in...She's lovely though.
Blake and Jordin: totally worthy of being in the finals. It should be a terrific finale next week.

I think that Melinda Dolittle has the best voice also, but I think she is the second least marketable (profitable) of the remaining 3 last night. Unless she records Tina Turner type style, and lyrics, I don't see a market for her singing. Even worse for Jordin Sparks. She has an amazing voice for a 17 year old, but not marketable.
The only one I see as marketable is Blake Lewis.
Although he has the weakest voice, it is still more marketable than the ladies. Just look where Fantasia is today with her similar style... Fantasia who??? Oh, the Idol winner who starred in her own biography. The market is already inundated with their music 'style'. Boring.
Strictly my 'humble ' opinion, and I'm happy to hear you survived the Margarita. lol
