The morning after on "The View"

We didn't get to see Rosie and Elisabeth kiss and make up or tear each other's heads off this morning on "The View" since Rosie did not appear today because it is Kelli's 40th birthday. Good timing! Both those gals gotta cool off! Ironically, the show got pre-empted in the East because President Bush was holding a press conference that I could only stomach about two minutes of. But we got the show on the West Coast and Barbara Walters opened things up by saying: "Barbara is back and there is peace in the kingdom."
Kathy Griffin was filling in as a guest host and quite eager to rehash the whole Rosie-Elisabeth showdown: "Cut the crap Barbara, let's get to the good stuff!"
Walters said: "ARE YOU CRAZY?" and she pointed out that such feuds are not necessarily good for ratings. She said "The View" had its highest ratings all season in February, a rare month when Rosie was not involved in any kind of a feud.
aaaaaaaagriffin1.jpgGriffin: "I really loved that this is the only place where you can see women debating these topics." Walters responded by saying: "Women could talk and argue and debate without it getting personal and nasty."
But Kathy was undetered: "I'd love it if Barbara punched me in the face and I'd be on all the shows tomorrow. Go ahead!"
(Walters gives her a kiss on the cheek instead)
Elisabeth chimes in: "Would it have had as much attention if it had involved men?" Barbara responds: "I really don't want to rehash yesterday."
But Kathy loved the fight and confesses "I watch it on TV again and again, on TiVo."
Good thing Kathy Griffin was there to lighten things up but I think when Rosie returns on Tuesday, it will be fascinating to watch the interaction between her and her "friend" Elisabeth!
