Why Rosie REALLY left "The View"

You can learn a lot by reading the "Ask Ro" section of Rosie O'Donnell's blog on Rosie.com. I was sitting here waiting for Memorial Day weekend box office numbers and started scrolling down just to pass the time and wow! Then I watched the video blog she made Saturday night and there really are no questions left unanswered.
Of her stint on "the View" Rosie said: "I was really like the foster kid for a year, I came and we considered adoption, but I really didn't fit into the family, and then it was time for the foster kid to go home."
It is clear that she feels betrayed by Elisabeth Hasselbeck ("friends...in show business...it's hard to tell sometimes" and "A mom bond truly isn't enough for a friendship")), the two have been briefly in touch via e-mail. She says: "She called and Kelli spoke to her for a long time. And I haven't spoken to her, and I probably won't and I think it's just as well. And I wrote her an email, and she wrote me back. And there you have it...I never tried harder to be friends with someone than I did with her fro, the get-go, but I don't think we ended up there, anywhere close."

Ironically, today's show was an original episode that had been pre-taped to mark Hasselbeck's 30th birthday. As a gift, Rosie offered her co-host and "friend" a week at her Miami mansion and the two embraced.
We won't be seeing Hasselbeck darkening Rosie's Miami doorstep anytime soon!
But the on-air battle with Elisabeth was not the biggest reason for Rosie's abrupt departure. It was Executive Producer Bill Geddes decision to exploit the war of words between Rosie and Elisabeth by using a split-screen and allowing things to escalate for 10 minutes or so without cutting to a commercial.
"I spied an agenda and asked to be released three weeks early....ABC agreed...I am not a victim, just made a choice that was right for me."
Rosie writes that she did "not really" get along with Geddes, doubts she will do any specials for "The View" as she initially planned to do and the reason why she won't return for a farewell appearance is because "I have to trust the executive producer and I do not."
HOW SHE'S FEELING: "I am sad but not in the dark...I feel better each day. Rocked out with Cyndi Lauper last night, took the kids on the boat, saw the new baby birds, that's what counts."
While her professional future as far as a regular television gig is still up in the air, Rosie writes that in the meantime "I am touring with Cyndi Lauper Ture Colors 2007, I am doing 'Nip/Tuck' again as Dawn Budge...that's it."

She said on the video blog: "If you see me back on TV, it will be in a much more peaceful forum..."
Good luck Rosie!!!

And to think she raised/gave away more money for charity than Martha, Donald or David G.

The rest are just ankle biting pikers.
