It looks like this event woulda been lots more fun if Rosie had been there but hey, you go with who's left. Barbara Walters received her star on Hollywood Boulevard. Now I don't know why she is so chummy with the Hilton family (Kathy and Nicky were present) because I think it maikes her look silly. But her broadcasting credentials are historic. Among them: first female co-host of "The Today Show," first female co-anchor of a network evening news broadcast (ABC), co-anchor of "20-20" for more than two decades of major scoops and one-on-one chats with world leaders in addition to all the celebs. I also want to say this about Barbara Walters: she has been a wonderful straight ally over the years by doing things like the incredible "20-20" special a few months back on transgender children which I think is some of the best work she has EVER done; she hired openly-gay Rosie O'Donnell as a co-host on "The View" where Rosie talked about her wife and kids on a regular basis and I think so much to help straight and unenlightened people in this country realize that gay folks, in many ways, are just like them; and I also recall that back in the mid-90s, Walters did an incredibly sensitive interview with Olympian Greg Louganis who was not only coming out of the closet in a new book, but was also making public that he was HIV-positive. I'll never forget that interview and the way Barbara Walters conducted herself.

I can take or leave Elisabeth Hasselbeck but as far as co-hosts of "The View" go, I think Joy Behar is off-the-charts terrific. I would love to be her friend.

I ask you, what on EARTH are the Hilton's doing at this ceremony? Shouldn't they be at home baking a file into a designer chocolate cupcake so that Paris can break out of the joint?
