Catch a box office buzz...
Hey, I'm really enjoying writing the BOX OFFICE BUZZ column for the Daily News each Friday. It's fun to try and predict how much the new movies are going to make opening weekend. Check out the column and you will see how wrong I was last week. Hopefully I will do better this week with my guesstimates for "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" starring the beautiful Jessica Alba and the beautiful Chris Evans who plays Torch.
Chris sure is HOT! HOT! HOT!

Greg, I'm laughing now that I see the "hot" picture. Did his clothes burn off? Looks that way.
I enjoyed today's column -- I've never been a good predictor of box office, but I suspect this weekend's is going to be extra hot because of the weather. Back in the pre-air-conditioning days (we're talking 1995 here), I'd see any old crap just to get the value-added A/C.
Even though there's a lot of heat out there, I'm gonna say "FF: Silver Surfer" tops out at $30 million and that "Nancy Drew" will do $15 million. I have a feeling you are closer with $10 million to $12 million, but I think Emma Roberts has more star power than you're giving her credit for, and that's a movie that could run for awhile over the summer and eventually pile up $80 to $100 million. And they're probably already talking sequel.
It's funny how those movies like "Hogs" eventually, grindingly, earn out their budgets. And they really make it up on DVD, which means you and I are in the wrong part of this business.
