The Alma Awards vs. the CCNMA banquet...

Well, Eva Longoria of "Desperate Housewives" hosted last night's Alma Awards in Los Angeles and had more costume changes than Cher! What a diva. Longoria is gorgeous and wears clothes well as evidenced by this photo album from JustJared.com. But personally, I'd probably prefer a woman like the lovely Sara Ramirez of "Grey's Anatomy" who's character of Callie is married to T.R. Knight's George on the show. Ramirez is a wonderous talent who won the Tony Award for best featured actress in a musical for "Spamalot" a few years back.
But, of course, I REALLY prefer Rodrigo Santoro of "Lost" and the film "300." He is a beauty!!!

MEANWHILE, not all the Latinos in LA were at the Alma Awards last night. Some of us, like me and my LA Daily News colleagues, were at the Biltmore Hotel downtown for the California Chicano News Media Association Scholarship dinner. Here are some pics of my work buds and I at this very worthwhile event that supports aspiring journalists...

Greg Hernandez has covered the entertainment industry for the Daily
News since 2001. He's considered a bit odd by some for his obsession
with box office numbers, has been known to camp out near the kitchen
at premieres for first crack at the hors d'oeurves, and Greg's never
seen a red carpet he didn't want to stroll down.

And speaking of Hot Latinos and the men who love them --
