Tony Awards ratings are low...

Sheesh. i realize they aren't as intelligent or inspiring as say, the MTV Movie Awards, but Sunday night's Tony Awards telecast was a gem and yet they suffered their lowest ratings since 1992 despite such a spectacular year at the box office for Broadway. Even a show-stopping performance from Fantasia didn't druim of interest. Hmmmmmmmm. Maybe that other Tony, as in Soprano, did this Tony in. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the three-hour CBS telecast averaged 6.2 million viewers. Last year's show had 6.4 million viewers.
The Tony Awards dropped steadily from 7.2 million at 8 p.m. to 6.4 million at 9 p.m., when it competed against "The Sopranos" conclusion on HBO and the tipoff of the NBA finals. It fell to 5.3 million viewers at 10:30 p.m., when the major awards were being handed out.
How could you not watch the last friggen half hour of a terrific show? That's when David Hyde Pierce and Christine Ebersole won their Tonys for their respective musicals.
Well, it was a no-brainer for me. The Tonys rank above the NBA and a mobster family any time!

I loved the show especially Fantasia...this IS her song!
