Friday quotables: Travolta dances w/Connery and more...

"I was asked to dance by Sean Connery. We were at a party for Frank Sinatra and we were on our way out, my wife and I were leaving. "And he (Connery) said, 'John, where you going?' And I said, 'I've got to go home, I'm filming tomorrow.' And he said, 'Before you dance with me?' And I said, 'Alright.' "Who's going to turn down Bond?So we ended up dancing together. The whole party stopped... "I just couldn't believe I was dancing with 007. It was a good feeling, dancing with a big icon like that was awesome."
- John Travolta recalling a long ago moment with Connery

"People find it interesting to try to make me gay; I'm not gay. I went on vacation with two girlfriends of mine who, interestingly enough got cut out of the pictures. We found a nude beach, as far as I know, was a unisex beach.... We took off our clothes and jumped in the water."
- Shemar Moore on being photographed, nude, at a gay beach in Hawaii

"Remember that I have a family. Remember that I have teenage nieces and nephews -- and younger -- who do surf the internet for stuff about their uncle. And I would appreciate if you don't make up rumors and things about me. If you want the facts, go to my website. I'm truthful. I'm honest about the way I talk. If you want the truth, come to me."
- John Barrowman on what he thinks of what is written about him on the internet

“...of course the Church of Scientology comes in very handy. (huge laugh from audience) It's the biggest ex gay movement in America. They catch you when you're young and confused, tell you they'll look after you, even provide you with a wife and child... Then of course you have to do what they call an audit, where you confess everything you've ever done into a tape recorder, so they've got the tapes. So once you're famous and successful you have to go along with all their nonsense about people falling into volcanoes... (pause)... then you play a woman in a movie musical, a part created by a drag queen and written by a gay man..."

Greg Hernandez has covered the entertainment industry for the Daily
News since 2001. He's considered a bit odd by some for his obsession
with box office numbers, has been known to camp out near the kitchen
at premieres for first crack at the hors d'oeurves, and Greg's never
seen a red carpet he didn't want to stroll down.
Comments
Interesting quote from John Barrowman. I appreciate his sentiment, also wanting to be the hero for my nieces and nephew, but at least one of his own indiscretions (namely a significant one in Washington, DC) put the burden of his behavior and the revelation thereof squarely on his own shoulders. Unverifiable rumors in the entertainment business are unfortunately part of the playbook. But I hope he's not asking others not to speak of his behavior off-hours, because this was something he definitely would not be comfortable having his popular audience consider.
And frankly someone's own website would be the last place I would look to find factual, non-PRified information about someone.
