"Sex and the City" movie is finally a go!

Oh, how I've missed seeing new adventures of Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte (but not Charlotte as much). A movie sequel to the much beloved and much-missed HBO series about four gay men - uh, I mean four heterosexual women - living in Manhattan is now on track with all four stars of the series signed and set to go, reports TV Guide's Michael Ausiello and Daily Variety.
Kim Cattrall, who plays saucy, slutty Samantha had been the holdout a few years back but a few flop movies later, she's on board. She has been guaranteed input into her character as well as a future series deal with HBO. Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte, has also been in need of a follow-up hit after her post-"Sex" movies were met with indifference including "The Shaggy Dog" opposite Tim Allen.
But Emmy winners Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie) and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) have been sailing right along. Parker is busy making hit movies ("Failure to Launch," "The Family Stone") while Nixon - the only real-life lesbian of the four, has won a Tony ("Rabbit Hole") and was nominated for every award under the sun for her performance as Eleanor Roosevelt in "Warm Springs."
Shooting will start in September and the film will be financed and distributed by New Line Cinema which released "Hairspray" later this month.
I. Can't. Wait.

with box office numbers, has been known to camp out near the kitchen
