The concert for Princess Diana...

If Princess Diana was looking down from heaven last night, she could not have felt more proud of the two sons, William and Harry, who honored their mother last night with a concert that they wanted to be the best birthday present she would ever had. Diana would have been 46 yesterday had she not been killed in a horrible car crash in Paris 11 years ago. It is through these handsome, well-spoken young men that Diana, Princess of Wales, lives on. NBC aired these never-before-seen home movies of the princess aftert the concert - they were of her life as a young girl, playing with her mother and younger brother, swimming, maiking mud pies etc. It was enough to make a grown man get a big ol' lump in his throat.

Elton John opened the show with "Your Song" then introduced William and Harry. Other acts included Tom Jones, Duran Duran, Kayne West, Ricky Gervais, Nelly Furtado, Simon Le Bon, P. Diddy and Rod Stewart, among others. Among the many celebs who showed up and participated were David Beckham (below)

Greg Hernandez has covered the entertainment industry for the Daily
News since 2001. He's considered a bit odd by some for his obsession
with box office numbers, has been known to camp out near the kitchen
at premieres for first crack at the hors d'oeurves, and Greg's never
seen a red carpet he didn't want to stroll down.
