Ratings for "The View" are solid with Whoopi...
It looks like Whoopi Goldberg is as big a ratings draw for "The View" as the controversial Rosie O'Donnell was - at least in her first week. The Oscar winner's debut week as moderator nearly tied Rosie's debut week a year ago. An average of 3.5 million viewers tuned in each day, just 2 percent less than fall 2006 premiere week.
I'm digging Whoopi in the job and wish her continued success...
Greg Hernandez has covered the entertainment industry for the Daily
News since 2001. He's considered a bit odd by some for his obsession
with box office numbers, has been known to camp out near the kitchen
at premieres for first crack at the hors d'oeurves, and Greg's never
seen a red carpet he didn't want to stroll down.

What you mean to say is that there was only a SMALL drop-off during Whoopie's inaugural week. A 2% drop is a trend nightmare because you are comparing Rosie's numbers to Whoopie's. The real tale will be told when Barbara backs off and the show goes on auto-Whoopie-pilot.
You should not have stated that Whoopie was a big ratings draw when 70 thousand households less turned the show on.
