Thomas Roberts makes his debut on "The Insider"

Former CNN anchor Thomas Roberts wasn't spotted at this year's National Gay and Lesbian Journalists Assn. conference over the weekend for good reason: he started his new gig on syndicated entertainment news show "The Insider" on Monday.
aaaaaroberts.jpgA year ago, Roberts was the talk of the NLGJA convention in Miami when he discussed being a gay television reporter at the cable network which after the conference, seemed to almost instantly marginalize him.
But it doesn't seem he will be marginalized on "The Insider" since he will be based in Los Angeles while anchors Pat O'Brien and Lara Spencer will now both be based in New York. Roberts was introduced by the pair and he went into a piece on what current rumors are true or false about various celebs. Later in the show, he did a cute piece on Patricia Heaton and Kelsey Grammer who play news anchors on their new FOX sitcom. Thomas gave Heaton a fan to use under the anchor desk and she joked that she hears they are often casually dressed in shorts etc.
Thomas confirmed that rumor.
