A new gig for Clay Aiken...
What a great break for Clay Aiken. The still-silent-about-his-sexuality singer is heading to Broadway where he will join the cast of the Tony Award winning musical "Monty Python's Spamalot." He will make his debut in January in the role originated by Tony winner David Hyde Pierce through May 4.
Director Mike Nichols said in a statement: "Clay Aiken is amazing beyond that glorious voice. Turns out he is an excellent comic actor and a master of character."
Hmm.
Greg Hernandez has covered the entertainment industry for the Daily
News since 2001. He's considered a bit odd by some for his obsession
with box office numbers, has been known to camp out near the kitchen
at premieres for first crack at the hors d'oeurves, and Greg's never
seen a red carpet he didn't want to stroll down.
