A red carpet interview w/Jane Lynch...

It was terrific to see Jane Lynch at Thursday night's Outfest Legacy Awards where Judith Light and Showtime's Robert Greenblatt were honored. She was one of the evening's presenters and introduced clips from about a dozen of the "25 Films that Changed Our Lives."
Jane did the voiceover for the new public service announcement (currently airing on Logo) about LGBT film preservation and restoration. We had a quick talk on the red carpet and she continues to impress me with her thoughtful responses to questions.
"I think it's really important to preserve these films because they were considered almost exploitation films back in the 50s and 60s and now, we;re out and proud and we're telling our stories and I think it's really important that we dig back and get the stories that were told when it wasn't so easy to tell these stories and keep them fresh and alive."
Lynch could think of no one more deserving of recognition than Light: "Judith Light, I am a huge fan of hers. Not only of her work as an actor but because she was out there in the front lines of the AIDS crisis early on - before it was popular, before people started wearing the red ribbons. She was out there and she was fighting the good fight and bringing attention to this crisis in the gay community and I love her, love, love her for that. She is the real deal."
Lynch, busy as always, did a role in the feature film "alvin and the Chipmunks" which is coming out around Christmas and is currently shooting a film with cuties Paul Rudd and Sean William Scott."
Lynch, who had worked with Rudd previously in "40 Year Old Virgin," said the new film is called "Little Big Men" about two guys who get arrested and instead of going to prison they have to participate in a mentor program run by Lynch's character."
Any film Jane Lynch is in, I wanna see.
