Box Office Buzz: A movie fit for a queen...

Caught "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" at crowded preview screening Tuesday night. It was one of those nights: "Should I go or stay home and watch 'Dancing With the Stars'? I went and have no regrets. The critics have not been kind overall but I liked it! Cate Blanchett is such a commanding screen presence and it's nice to see her back in her Oscar-nominated role. She amazes me with all she can do. And the movie has some serious eye candy in the form of Clive Owen who looks like an old-fashioned movie idol in this flick.
Speaking of old-fashioned movie idols, George Clooney really makes "Michael Clayton" worth watching. Saw it last weekend and loved it - an old-fashioned legal thriller that is first-rate.
These are only two of five films that go into wide release today and in my BOX OFFICE BUZZ column, I try and handicap how I think each might do...
