Brothers & Sisters: Scotty's return is handled beautifully...

.scotty.jpg
I think Kevin and Scotty are one of television's great couples. The chemistry between the actors (Matthew Rhys and Luke MacFarlane) who play these characters on "Brothers & Sisters" is certainly equal to that of Calista Flockhart and Rob Lowe if not better.

So last we saw Scotty, he had slept with Kevin on Valentine's Day when Kevin was trying to make Chad (Jason Lewis) jealous. I wondered how Scotty would re-enter Kevin's life in a believable way. The writers had him come to Kevin for legal assistance (pro bono) after he got a DUI from a homophobic officer and wants to fight it.
Before I go on, I must remark: Luke MacFarlane is absolutely beautiful and radiate such a sweetness as this character. I am so glad to see him back on this show. The fact that this character has struck such a chord with the fans is all credit to the actor, I think.

So Kevin gets Scotty off the hook and he is paid back by Scotty cooking dinner for him at the fancy dinner he interns at as part of chef's school which he now attends. After, when Scotty moves in to kiss Kevin, he is stopped when Kevin explains: "I'm in a relationship."
Kev suggests this insread: "We were never friends...maybe we can try that."
Meanwhile, Sally Field spent the entire episode playing the concerned mother as Justin fights severe pain and resists taking meds because of his addict past. Dave Annable and Field are so good in these scenes - sp believable and real. I believe Field as Nora every moment she is on screen and think she may need room on the shelf for yet another Emmy.

But my favorite line of the episode was uttered by Saul and, while golfing with Tommy and his insufferable father-in-law, finds the experience so revolting he says, "I'd rather spend an entire dinner party sitting next to Britney Spears."
Ouch!!
