Catching up with Scott Speedman...

It was great to talk to Scott Speedman the other day. Of course we all know him as Ben Covington on "Felicity" but he's had a pretty successful feature film career since them. The "Underworld" have been the most successful, but my favorite of his film roles is in "The 24th Day."
It's an intense, basically two-person film starring Speedman and James Marsden. They play men who had a one-night stand years earlier. Speedman's character is infected with HIV by Marsden's character and passes it on to his wife. Flash-forward: he picks Marsden up in a bar a few years later, takes him home, and instead of seducing him, he trerrorizes him.
“I liked that a lot,” Speedman says of the film. “That’s the kind of thing I’d like to do more of, that kind of work in a more commercial way. We did that for about $300,000. With that type of movie, I’m going to see what I can do with a character I’ve never done.”
Speedman was superb in the film and met his match in Marsden who he says "is really good, he’s really flying now.”
