Ellen gets treated like a dog...
I can't think of worse PR for the dog rescue agency Mutts and Moms than making Ellen DeGeneres cry on national television. Our Ellen, the one who dances, tells jokes and brings such sunshine into millions of homes each days. The reason for Ellen's on-air tears?
She was pleading with the dog rescue agency to return an adopted dog she had given to her hairdresser and two girls because it didn't get along with her cats. Ellen and Portia de Rossi adopted Iggy, a Brussels Griffon mix, on Sept. 20. But when things didn't work out, DeGeneres gave the dog to her hairdresser.
It seems that In doing so, Ellen violated an agreement with the agency because she failed to inform them of the handoff. So the agency, which sounds kinda scary to me, called Ellen to ask about Iggy, she told them she found another home for the dog.
Big mistake.
The agency then sends someone to the hairdresser's home on Sunday who takes the dog away.
Give me, a break.
Ellen says she spent $3,000 having the dog neutered and trained to be with her cats. But the dog had too much energy and was too rambunctious. The fine print of the dog adoption says the dog was to go back to the agency.
Ellen admits she didn't read it all and she thought she'd done "a good thing" by finding another "loving home for the dog" because she couldn't keep it.
"Because I did it wrong, those people went and took that dog out of their home, and took it away from those kids," Ellen said, teary-eyed. "I feel totally responsible for it and I'm so sorry. I'm begging them to give that dog back to that family. It's not their fault. It's my fault. I shouldn't have given the dog away. Just please give the dog back to those little girls."

I think that Ellen was very sincere about this whole problem with the dog situation. However, I do not think that she should have been so emotional about a dog when there is so much other things in the world to be concerned and sad about like poverty, the war in Iraq, and the Aids epidemic.
What kind of idiot swoops in and takes a dog away when there is a very popular talk show host in question?
Did they honestly think she was going to keep quiet about this?
Isn't it ultimately about trying to find homes for dogs?
These people are morons.
And they've already taken down their website and phone numbers.
Idiots.
Ellen sucks. She knew the rules, but she didn't want to follow them, so she used her show to stage a sobbing stunt to gain sympathy. The Mutts & Moms people just followed the contract that Ellen signed.
The morons are the people who think that fame and wealth trump rules.
Amber, there *ARE* many things in the world that are sadder, including the things you cited. However, I would imagine that none of those things have directly and personally impacted Ellen like the dog situation. Besides, who are you and I (or anyone else for that matter) to decide what someone should feel sad about?
