Hasselbeck to leave "The View" early...
Don't get your hopes up. Elisabeth Hasselbeck is only beginning her maternity leave a few weeks early because her football playing hubby has been traded to Arizona so they have to move and get settled before she gives birth.
"Don't get so excited that the Republican is gone so soon," she told the audience. "I will be back."
Whoopi Goldberg, whose politics are about as far apart from Elisabeth as Rosie O'Donnell's are, was kind and said: "I have become accustomed to this Republican."
Elisabeth's last day, for awhile, will be Oct. 25
Greg Hernandez has covered the entertainment industry for the Daily
News since 2001. He's considered a bit odd by some for his obsession
with box office numbers, has been known to camp out near the kitchen
at premieres for first crack at the hors d'oeurves, and Greg's never
seen a red carpet he didn't want to stroll down.

I hate to wish ill will upon anyone (okay, maybe Donald Trump) but can't Elizabeth go and move to Arizona permanently? She just grates on my nerves like press-on nails down a chalkboard...

This is what I like to think of as the beginning of a graceful exit. It starts with an early maternity leave. It turns into an extended leave. Then, citing a need to be with the family in AZ and not commute back and forth, Elisabeth departs from The View.
