Lance Bass says Britney was shocked that he was gay...they haven't spoke since he came out to her...[Updated]
Sorry for the slow trickle of items so far this morning. I'm going to go on a posting roll now so fasten your seatbelts! First off, I'm looking forward to reading Lance Bass' upcoming book, "Out of Sync" - especially if his interview with GQ magazine is any indication of how revealing he wll be. PAGE SIX revealed a few todbits today: Lance says he came out to Britney Spears before he told many of his other friends because he felt bad for her - and it was the last time they spoke!
Ouch!
"It was the night of her first wedding, actually," Bass said "I was in Vegas with her, her dancers, her manager, and my boyfriend at the time . . . Her manager had already gotten rid of [her first husband] Jason [Alexander] - they'd flown him home. Britney was upset about what she had done. I felt bad for her. I knew she was about to go through a lot of crap. I felt the need to share something. So I sat her on my bed, and I'm like, Well, I'm gay!" Spears was "surprised. I was always the Southern gentleman."
Instead of making them closer, they are almost strangers now.
"I tried. She's my neighbor in Beverly Hills. She lives next door. I tried to get in touch with her - I wanted to be that friend to help her."
Also in GQ, Bass says he and his bandmates had suspcions about somebody else, somebody who went on to date Britney, Cameron Diaz and now Jessica Biel.
"We thought Justin [Timberlake] was gay," Bass says, "because he told us he wanted to do a gay part in a movie."
And this:"We thought Chris [Kirkpatrick] was gay because he used to hang out with a choreographer."
Bass did harbor resentment toward Timberlake over the demise of 'N Sync, but he's now cool with what went down. "I'm proud of him. There's no anger, but there's disappointment. We were starting to get respect – and Grammy nominations. And he kind of took that respect to get past the boy-band stigma. Hopefully, he'll throw us a bone and do another 'N Sync album or a song, because the rest of us loved it. It was our life – touring, making albums."
