Another reason to admire Natalie Portman...

.aaaaaaaaaportman.jpgEvery once in awhile, we gay men get a girl crush. It's perfectly natural and nothing to be ashamed of. Mine is on Natalie Portman for many reasons dating back to when I first saw her as a teenager in "Beautiful Girls." She was so sweet in that movie, a shining light, and her scenes with Timothy Hutton are what I remember most...in addition to the HILARIOUS scene with Rosie O'Donnell going on a rant about what is wrong with men.

Anyway, Natalie has made it to adulthood intact, intelligent and thoughtful - think of her as everything Britney is not. She's Harvard-educated and Oscar-nominated and in the current issue of In Style magazine, she gave a quote about marriage that made me love her all the more: "I'm not convinced about marriage. Divorce is so easy, and the fact that gay people are not allowed to marry takes much of the meaning out of it...committing yourself to one person is sacred."
