Happy Birthday to Sally Field, TV's best PFLAG mom...

Sally Field turns 61 years old today.
I've been a fan forever but never more than now because of what Sally brings to the role of Nora Walker each week on ABC's "Brothers & Sisters." She the on-screen mother of five children, including gay son Kevin, and the actress - who won her third career Emmy this fall for her performance - is the kind of mom every gay kid wants. Kevin is treated no different from the other siblings, that I can see, and that includes not being handled with kid gloves regarding his sexuality. And now Nora will get to deal with her brother, Saul, coming out as gay after all these years.
So happy birthday to Sally Field and thanks for the wonderful portrayal each week which makes us believe that a parent can treat their child's homosexuality as no big deal.
