Hey, I love this casting because it means that Jake is gonna have to get really bulked up! OK, that's awfully shallow, I know. I'm also glad that Mr. Gyllenhaal has been signed to play Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath because I think Jake is a mighty fine actor - one of the best of his generation along with Leonardo DiCaprio and Heath Ledger.

Daily Variety reports that the still untitled movie - to be written after the damned writers strike is settled - will tell the story of how the golden-armed kid from Beaver Falls, Pa. became Broadway Joe as the New York Jets quarterback.

I. Can't. Wait.
