ATWT: The silly Luke and Noah sequence...

.aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanukeee.jpg

OK, I don't get it at all but hey, i'll take Luke and Noah doing their version my the great film "Maurice" anytime. Remember it? Hugh Grant was in it, he was the repressed gay who got married to a woman, much to the heartbreak of his male college love.

So Luke and Noah are in some kind of time dream, back in time and Noah comes to spoend Christmas with Luke's wealthy family. He hugs him hello and says: "I have news. I have to be engaged...to the daughter of a family friend. I'm being pressured by my family."

Luke: "I am happy for you.
Noah: After all we;ve been through, how close we were at school.
Luke: Youth and loneliness leads to all kinds of foolish things and then you grow up, as you have."

The point of all this, I do not know. Here is the clip. Maybe you can figure it out:

Actually, if you knew all of the years of back story, it makes great sense. There were things in the segment that contained references to past story lines both in reverse and with a twist. For example, Lukes' dad, Holden, who is actually his adoptive father, began working for his mother's, Lily, family as a stable hand. Dusty was actually Lily's boyfriend when she and Holden first met. The bit between Noah and Luke was a throwback to a number of forced, arranged marriages etc. that have happened over the years. Not only that but when his biological father, Lily's 2nd husband, found out that Luke was gay, he kidnapped him and took him to one of "those" places that repairs queers. The episode, for anyone who has been involved with the series for a long time would have seen references to a lot of storylines. It was really quite brilliant.
