Look who turns 62 today...

You Bette!
It's the Divine Miss M who we love, love, love!!! She is the "Wind Beneath My Wings." OK, I was gonna try and be clever and work "From A Distance" and "The Rose" into a sentence then realized how ridiculous that would be!
I've seen her in concert twice (so fun!) but most of my Bette memories are from her movies. She's not making as many as she used to but as long as I have the DVDs of her in "Beaches," "For the Boys," "First Wives Club" and "Gypsy," I'm good. I do find it rather bizarre that I have never seen "The Rose" and yet, I have watched "Hocus Pocus" I dunno how many times.
What are your favorite Bette Midler memories?

Was at a party years ago, and in walked Bette Midler. Thought she was so tiny in person! And seemed shy...not at all like the 'Star' we all know and love. Happy Birthday, Bette!
^^X^^
Seeing her at the Continental Baths. Yes, Barry Mannilow was her accompanist there. It was so incredible watching a star being born right before our eyes -- and in such a setting!
"The Rose" is a must see. My favorite line is, "Your hair has a hardon."
I saw Bette in Montreal in concert where she now states she got her biggest laugh. A Quebec politician was involved with some underage girls like a day before the concert. She came out and said she would of been here earlier but she was afraid for her girls and brought up that story, the place went absolutely crazy. It's right up there with one of the best shows I ever seen, it was her DETOUR show.
