,poltergay.jpgA fun time last night at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. I chatted up Rikki Lake and Amanda Bynes before the "Hairspray" sing-along (interviews to be posted later today) then went over to nearby Palm Springs High School for the sceening of the french comedy "Poltergay" which was billed as "Poltergeist" meets "Saturday Night Fever." The horror spoof told the stroy of a young couple who unkowingly buy a mansion haunted by five disco-dancing gay men.

It was so much fun! The leads, Clovis Cornillac and Julie Depardeau were quite appealing and attractive and keep you rooting for them to work things out as a couple even though the wife thinks hunky hubby is nuts when he starts seeing these ghosts that she doesn't see. He begins to question his sexuality because all he sees is gay men and hears disco music.

In the end, believe it or not, the movie has a message about acceptance, friendship and true love with a lot of laughs along the way. Hopefully this movie will make it to Outfest in LA this summer and have a DVD release. Directed by Eric Lavaine, it is a real hoot!
