"A Four Letter Word" will begin theatrical run in March...

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,word.jpgI saw the indie comedy "A Four Letter Word" last summer at Outfest and my favorite thing about it was getting to see Charlie David, a good guy on "Dante's Cove," play a real liar and scoundrel!

Got an email last night from the film's producers, Embrem Entertainment, who said they are taking a "do it yourself" approach to releasing the movie by assuming all US theatrical, home entertainment and broadcast distribution duties and will begin a limited theatrical release at the end of March 2008.

Embrem, run by Casper Andreas and Markus Goetze, also managed the theatrical release of its first feature film, "Slutty Summer," in 2005.

Said Andreas, the film's director and co-writer (with Jesse Archer): "From its very beginnings, the goal of independent filmmakers has been to maintain control over their work. Our decision as filmmakers to handle full distribution is simply a natural progression of that goal."

The company stated several times that they did get several offers for distribution but are going their own way out of choice. In other words, it;s not a last resort kinda thing, they actually WANT to do this. I say whatever, As long as it gets some more exposure. It has already been seen at more than 50 film fests and deserves to be seen by a wider audience.

"A Four Letter Word" follows a group of friends trying to navigate the maze of modern relationships. Leading the way is Luke (Archer), an attractive, witty Chelsea boy who works at a sex shop and won't even spell "monogamy." Then he meets Stephen (David) and falls so hard that he attends a sexual compulsives meeting. Yet all is not bliss as Luke discovers that Stephen has secrets, and he comes to realize that some four-letter words, like love, are a lot more complicated than he thought.
