Jay Leno, condemned by GLAAD, apologizes for Ryan Phillippe incident...
Jay Leno has apologized for last week's bizarre bit with Ryan Phillippe on "The Tonight Show" when Ryan was on to promote his new movie "Stop-Loss."
Jay brought up Ryan's early role as a gay teen on the ABC soap "One Life to Live" then inexplicably said to Ryan: "Can you give me, like - say that camera is your gay lover ...Can you give me your gayest look'? Say that camera is Billy Bob - Billy Bob has just ridden in shirtless from Wyoming."
Ryan looked instantly uncomfortable and said: "Wow. That is so something I don't want to do. Are you just going to embarrass me tonight, or ... ?"
"No," said Jay. "I got more stuff. This is the least of it."
Earlier today, GLAAD slammed Leno with this statement: "We are proud of Ryan for refusing to participate in Leno's thoughtless attempt at humor," said GLAAD President Neil G. Giuliano. "Under the guise of comedy, the talk-show host is demonstrating a lack of respect for the gay community and insensitivity to both his co-workers and the audience, to whom he owes an apology."
Then came this apology from Jay: "In talking about Ryan's first role, I realize that what I said came out wrong. I certainly didn't mean any malice. I agree it was a dumb thing to say, and I apologize."

Another reason not to watch that very bad comedian/host. What a prick.
I don't get it what exactly he was trying to ask the guy to tell him. May be am out of the tune with the day to day english talk. Was he asking the actor to tell him what was the (purported) "gayest" look he had? If so, what a jerk and homophofic old guy. Well, his face doesnt speak of love but hatred. And that you can not conceal under pretended humor. We out there -around the world- don't give a crap about this whoever it is. But now some of us have a reason to despise him.
Ok, I think it was so absurd I couldn't get it at first, but -after a word after word analysis- I understand. And it´s double the prejudice that I thought at first. Oh, yes, as if gays are always predators lusting for everyone at sight. Leno hasn't that problem, he doesn't has to even look, whores jump onto him. Money can't buy you love, baby.
Leno said a dumb joke, but that's no reason to persecute him.
Remember a thing called free speech? Besides, no one complains when shows like Will and Grace exaggerate the stereotypes (10 times worse than a 5 second joke).
True equality means there should be no "protected groups" who are off-limits.
