Rosie defends Miley...

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,rosie.jpg
I hadn't watched Rosie O'Donnell's video blog in quite awhile and finally just caught up on it. Rosie is going to be appearing in "No, No Nanette" which I did not know about. She was a smash on Broadway back in the mid-90s as Rizzo in a hugely successful revival of "Grease."

"I'm doing a musical which I love a lot," Rosie said.

She also defended 15-year-old Miley Cyrus who has been at the center of a mega-controversy because of some provocative photos of her shot by Annie Leibowitz for "Vanity Fair."

"Annie Liebowitz; I had two photo shoots with her. You kind of do what she says. It's intimidating, Annie Liebowitz. I also didn't think it was a pornographic photo in any capacity. I thought it was sort of a beautiful portrait, you know. I like the one of her and her dad, too, I don't know. It's Annie Liebowitz, people, you know. Leave Miley Cyrus alone. Disney, making her apologize: Ay, ay, ay, ay, ay."

Here is a link to her vlog:

AfterElton.com seeks votes for 100 hottest men poll...

AfterElton.com is conducting its 100 Hottest Men poll for the second year (last year, Jake Gyllenhaal was number one!) and I encourage you to go to their site to vote for your faves. It's always interesting to see who gay and bisexual men find most attractive compared to People magazine.

I've given it some thought and come up with a top 12 list of guys (just couldn't stop at 10!) who I think are complete dreamboats. This list is in alphabetical order - they are all first-place to me.

Video: A parody of Tom Cruise's last visit with Oprah...

Tom Cruise is on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" today in part one of a two-parter which concludes on Monday with a show saluting his 25th year as a movie star. The clip above is a parody of his last visit with Oprah a few years back when he was spazzed out over being in love with Katie Holmes and jumping on the sofa etc. It is, a scream.

It's been a quarter century since Tom danced into our lives, in his underwear, in "Risky Business." Here's a clip of that great scene:

He was never more appealing than he was then. His star has dimmed dramatically in recent years to such a degree that this few hours with Oprah can only help him - maybe. Tom just seemed to go off the deep end a few years ago and has not been able to convince anyone that he's not a little wacky - and not in a good way.

Oh no, him again???

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,buckley.jpg
...oh yes! It's him, again! It is Robert Buckley in another series of shirtless shots featured on the A Socialite's Life site which describes the "Lipstick Jungle" star as "hot guy bliss." No arguements here!

Happy Friday!!!

Oprah asks Cynthia Nixon about girlfriend...

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,nixon.jpg
Caught the cast of "Sex and the City" on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" yesterday. Less than a month to go before the movie opens! The Big O asked Cynthia Nixon about her relationship with girlfriend Christine Marinoni.

"I was pretty shocked I have to tell ya," Cynthia said of falling in love with a woman. "It kinda made my day."

Then Oprah asked the other women, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis: "Were you all as shocked as we were?"

Kristin was the only one who knew about the relationship before it became public news and Cynthia said: "They were all really great in the things they said to the press."

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,nixon.jpgThough she dated men most of her life, Cynthia says when she met her girlfriend, it didn't matter to her if she was male or female. She was in love.

"Love is love," Kristin said. "I think that's the important thing. There's something real and intangible and solid about it that you can't really dissect or analyze. That's how I feel when I'm around them. It's just undeniable."

SJP said Cynthia's happiness is all that matters. "[Cynthia] is such a capable, smart-thinking person, and our greatest concern was that Cynthia be happy," she said. "No one is better equipped to answer questions, and no one knows how to be more circumspect and how to draw the line. We were merely to follow suit, and we were happy, very happy to do so."

Oprah, wanting more, remarked: "Love is love but she'd been in a 15-year relationship with another kind of love," she said, referring to the father of Cynthia's two children.

Cynthia basically left Oprah with nothing left to say when she said: "Well, have you met my girlfriend?"

She must be amazing.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,sex.jpg
The audience was shown the flick - except for the last 20 minutes - and Sarah Jessica made them wow not to tell their friends about the plot: "You can brag, but don't blog!"

Cattral, Nixon and Davis and the women talked about what it was like to have such huge crowds show up along the streets of NYC to watch them film,

Kim: "I felt like a Beatle."
SJP: "It was madness...you can't be anything less than thrilled that people still care."

Oprah loves the flick: "Every one of tem just acted their little asses off... I don't think anyone has a tush left."

That's the way the Cokie crumbles...

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,cokie2.jpgI wonder if Cokie Roberts thought maybe I was some kind of weirdo groupie when we met the other day.

My great friend, Beth Barrett, was being honored Wednesday night at the Society of Professional Journalists awards at the Omni Hotel in downtown LA. She had called me in the afternoon and said, "We're all going to be there at 5:30 to buy Cokie Roberts' book."

Cokie was the event's keynote speaker and is promoting her latest best seller, "Ladies of Liberty." I get to the Omni a little before 6 p.m. and no Beth, no anybody. Except for a nice woman from SPJ who said hello and as I was talking to her, I suddenly noticed Cokie was standing next to her, was surprised, and said something like, "Oh my gosh! It's Cokie Roberts!" She kind of laughed nervously as she held a glass of red wine in her hand. I went on to say that I'd watched her for years on ABC's "This Week" and blah, blah, blah. Frankly, she could not have cared less.

I wandered off as they set up her table and stacks of books. Beth and co. were still NOWHERE (I later learned she and her entourage were over at the hotel bar!) so I'm lingering and other than the SPJ officer on hand, I'm the first person to buy Cokie's book. I waited for her to finish chatting with a woman who was clearly an old friend then approached her to sign my copy.

Cold. As. Ice.

I told her my name and mentioned that I also have her mother's book (her mom is former congresswoman Lindy Boggs). She handed me back the book with I think a slight smile and I walked away. I opened it and she had written, "To Greg, Cokie Roberts."

Gee thanks. not even an "Enjoy!" or "Best wishes" or "Thanks for shelling out $24 for this opus." I was actually kinda miffed. But the Cokie snub made for a pretty funny story once Beth and her gang finally arrived and we had some wine before dinner. I started getting really good at telling the tale and probably started to exaggerate as the wine took hold: "And then she SHUT the book on my hand!"

Oh well. Got home and Cokie was on Tavis Smiley's show hawking the book and she was smart and insightful as ever. The real reasons why I have long admired her anyway.

Flirting with Tom Ford...

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,tomford.jpg
So I'm listening to the tape of my conversation with designer Tom Ford from the GLAAD Awards and all I can say is that you have to do so many back-to-back-to-back interviews on the red carpet that sometimes you just blurt things out. That's my excuse for the following exchange and I'm sticking to it.

Greg: "Here's Tom Ford, THE Tom Ford. Oh, you really are this handsome.
Tom: Awe...you're a FLIRT! Good! Go ahead! Flirt away!

I quickly regain my professional composure and we start to chat about his being at the awards to present an award to the late photographer Herb Ritts which was accepted by his friend, Cindy Crawford. Tom himself was honored by GLAAD last year.

I had to know, "Tom, are you glad there's GLAAD?"
Tom: "GLAAD is a great organization. GLAAD helps promote a fair view of a broad range of people with different lives, different personalities - gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender. It helps breaks down stereotype, it helps break down prejudice through promoting the fair depiction of people who might be, you know, different from one another. All of us in our culture and in our society deserve to be who we are and that's key."
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,foird.jpg
I remarked on how visible Tom has been lately, appearing on the cover of Vanity Fair and the cover of OUT. Is he enjoying the higher profile?
Tom: "Before, I was working for another company and now I have my own brand and my own company and I am in a certain sense the face of my brand. I'm also the spirit of my brand. It's my company! Of course it's fun. I love my job, I love what I do but I'm not taken in or fooled by it. What I love doing is designing beautiful things, I love working, I love building things, I love making things. The rest of it is a kind of benefit. But it's not something that drives me. I'm not driven to see my face on the cover of a magazine."

Greg: But we like it there!

Good God! Yes, I said that. Real cool huh? They are gonna start keeping me away from celebs, I'm starting to act like Lucy Ricardo when she met William Holden!
