Participants in the 545-mile ride, which is produced by-and benefits-the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, are pedaling into Los Angeles today as L.A.'s gay pride festival begins. Tomorrow, cyclists will ride in the gay pride parade, in which AIDS/LifeCycle is being honored as the "Community Grand Marshall."

Riders range in age from 18 to 81 and hail from 12 countries and 42 states and include actor Chad Allen (riding for the third time).

Earlier this week, an excited crowd of more than 3,000 participants in the AIDS/LifeCycle bike ride from S.F. to L.A. erupted in cheers as it was announced that they had raised $11.6 million to help end AIDS, a new world record for an annual HIV/AIDS fundraising event.

Congratulatons to all!
