You pretty much gotta feel sorry for most of the other women on a red carpet when Jennifer Beals is among them. She was easily the most gorgeous woman at the Creative Arts Emmys on Saturday even though she seemed to be suffering from a cold.

She stopped for a quick gab with me on her way in to the Nokia Theater. Jennifer said she is currently filming episodes for the final season of her hugely successful Showtime series "The L Word" and I wondered how she felt about that chapter in her life coming to a close.

"I'm excited and feel really proud of what we've accomplished and I think everybody is ready for a new adventure and I think we're ready for different stories to be told."

Jennifer burst onto the scene 25 years ago in "Flashdance" while a college student at Yale. She's never stopped working in films but had only done one TV series before "The L Word" and that was "2000 Malibu Road" which also starred Drew Barrymore and Lisa Hartman.

Would she do another series?

"I'd love to do another series if it was something that was exciting. I'd like to mix it up as much as I could."

Jennifer started coughing so I let her go but not before asking her if she liked coming to these kinds of events and doing the red carpet thing: "It's a day at the office. I like talking to you!"

But what about getting all dressed up and looking like Cinderella?

"Well, that's fun," she said. (laughs) "The whole transformation that goes on is really quite extraordinary. Those people deserve awards too."

Too bad that Jennifer is not so nice to her fans; not even considering them as part of her job and who buy her acting.

I agree with the last poster. The only time she talks to her fans is when she wants something i.e. Obama support; fundraising $ for her stupid triathalons. She's the celebrity with the cash, but she takes advantage of her fans by "writing to her fans" but she's really just begging for $ so that she looks good for her foundations.

Why such vicious comments? Since when does so-called "fan" owns a celebrity or someone who happens to be an excellent actress. JB had always maintain a low profile and play down the glamourous side of hollywood and the ridiculous celebrity idolization. For her true fans, we thank god for all the performances that she had accomplished and given us so far. And for all the triathlon lovers, what tenacity, keep up the good work!

What are you drunk? I personally met Jennifer Beals and she is wonderful. Her job is to entertain and she does that a 110 percent. Running a Triathlon is a personal event and takes incredible mental toughness as well as stamina and raising money for a good cause is never a bad thing. I think being a celebrity and having people faun all over you must be something not everyone can understand. She is trying to make the world a better place what have you done lately?

How mean is that comment? Jennifer has been such a good celebrity. She could be a stuck up snob like alot of celebs. but she's not at all. Raising money for a triathlon to help others, is such a gracious thing to do, how can anyone say anything negative about that. She gets involved in politics, human rights, campaigns, etc. to help others. Come on now, your just being mean and malicious. Jennifer if you ever read these rude comments, please ignore them. Keep up your good work. Good things come to good people. These views are not the views of most people, there will always will be people in the world that just spread hate and ignorance. I said this before, I am glad that you did not get all Hollywood on us. Don't change who you are, keep up the good work that your doing. Your a wife, mother, daughter, sister, celebrity, etc. but most important your always you at the end of the day and that's a beautiful thing. We love you Jennifer.

well I think that JB is a very shy person...she has admitted she has a hard time being the center of a live spotlight many times...often shyness is misinterpreted as being snooty or distant....I find her to be an amazing all around person...beautiful; intellectual; spiritual and extremely sensitive to the world around her. I just dont think she is one of these people who likes attention nor is she an attention grabber...she is simply an artist and that does not necessarily mean that you have to love celebrity..
