Sulu vs. Capt. Kirk: George Takei responds to Shatner's unkind words...

Here's the latest in the best celebrity feud since Rosie O'Donnell and Donald Trump. Yesterday, I posted VIDEO of William Shatner's over-the-top rant against former "Star Trek" co-star George Takei. George, who recently married his longtime partner Brad, gave an interview to "Entertainment Tonight" to give his side of the story. Towleroad.com has transcribed the whole thing and here are a few excerpts:

Shatner's comments were in response to reports that Takei had not invited him to his wedding. George tells ET that he did invite Shanter and explains: "...We didn't hear from him but it isn't surprising because it's true to his history...He's never responded to an invitation. For instance, every time there was something happy to celebrate amongst us, like getting sa star on Hollywood Blvd - he never showed up, even for [Star Trek creator] Gene Roddenberry. In fact, the most surprising thing is he didn't even show up for Gene Roddenberry's funeral.

Ouch!
