Maria Shriver speaks out against Prop. 8...

It's not a big surprise since the former NBC News star and author is famously Democrat (she is the niece of President Kennedy) but it's awfully nice for her to articulate her postion in a straightforward way.

The Associated Press reports that Shriver made her opinion clear in an interview with KNBC-TV in Los Angeles: "I believe in people's right to choose a partner that they love, and that's a decision that I have come to, and I have felt that way for a long time."

Her husband, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, also opposes Prop. 8, although he twice vetoed bills that would have made same-sex legal in the state.
