,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,shawn9.jpgSorry I don't have an updated photo of Shawn Pyfrom of "Desperate Housewives." I went to the show's ABC.com site and there are lots of photos from the season's first two episodes and there is not a single one with the talented young actor who plays Andrew Van de Kamp, once one of the most highly-visible gay characters on television - also one of the most delicious with his various teenage rebellions. He's been reduced to glorified extra for the last two seasons. I'll still hold out hope that he will get a storyline in season five. People magazine features a short Q&A with the actor in its current issue. Here are some of the questions.

Q. Will your character Andrew be creating more trouble for his mother, Bree, this season?
A. He'll be working for Bree (Marcia Cross) who has this Martha Stewart-like empire now. He's her right-hand man. He's much more behaved now - at least with his mother.

Q. Did you have any qualms about playing a gay character?
A. "I mean, I'm straight. If I say I'm uncomfortable with it, I'm homophobic. If I say I'm okay with it, then I'm gay. It's an honor. I didn't know it would be so groundbreaking."

Q. Are you dating anyone?
A. I have a girlfriend I've been with for five years. She's not an actress so I get to talk about normal stuff with her, and we're not fighting for the spotlight.

Here is a scene from last season from an espisode where he actually had more than one or two lines:
