Catching up with Phillip P. Keene of "The Closer..."

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,keene28.pngI waited to post about my chat with Phillip P. Keene at the SAG Awards because I wanted to use the photo I took of him with the text. He looks great but my thumb obscures part of the shot (I was using a disposable in a pinch). So here's a shot I found on the Internet.

Phillip was standing several yards away and I asked a publicist to bring him over. I'm told I would have to interview the entire cast together. I gave her a look and she relents and brings the handsome actor him over.

I just wanted to check in with Phillip because the last time we spoke at the LA AIDS Walk, I for some reason asked if I was gay and he told me that he is - openly. Since it's so rare that an actor will casually confirm this, I posted an item on the blog. I wondered what Phillip thought of it.

"I sawi it and it was really great, thank you very much," he said. "My manager loved it and all my friends were really supportive and I was really happy about that. And you didn't misquote me which was great!"

Phillip, wearing a gorgeous Paul Smith tuxedo, says he is excited about starting work in the fifth season of the show in March: "I talked to some of the writers about this season and they're expanding my role a little bit. We're gonna get to see a little bit more of Buzz."

That, as Martha Stewart would say, is a good thing.
