Glenn Close gets a well-deserved star...

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,close.jpgI'm still not over the Olsen twins getting a star on the Walk of Fame as well as Britney Spears when they were still in their teens! It just made the whole thing a joke and there have been many, many other dubious choice and glaring omissions over the years to make this "honor" very questionable.

But more often than not, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce does get it right and did so this week by presenting the great Glenn Close with a star that millions of tourists can trample over each year!

Glenn is an Out In Hollywood fave because she has taken on so many great roles in whatever medium suits her. On stage, she was a Tony-winning Norma Desmond in "Sunset Boulevard," has been delicious on the big screen as Cruella de Ville in "101 Dalmations" and its sequel and, of course, as Alex Forest in "Fatal Attraction." Then there's television and her current Emmy-winning role on "Damages."

Glenn has never shied away from playing a lesbian which she did in her Emmy-winning performance io "Serving In Silence" and as the sister-in-law in love with Meryl Streep in the awful (except for Glenn and Meryl!) film "House of Spirits" and one of her most touching performances - ever - as the mother of a gay man who has come home to die in the Christopher Reeve-directed "In the Gloaming."
