Okay, that said, President Barack Obama has so far had a busy first full day in office. I listened to his remarks from The White House today as I was driving back from the Shrine Auditorium where I got my pass for this weekend's Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Among the announcements in what Obama said is "a new era of openness" were the issuing executive orders on government ethics and transparency which include curbs on lobbying and a pay freeze for senior White House staff. Federal employees will have to sign up to new ethics procedures. President Obama also announced that he is directing federal agencies to be more open,regarding the Freedom of Information Act.

"What a moment we are in," he said. "What an opportunity we have to change this country."
