"Milk" goes into wider release today...

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,milkposter.jpgWith eight Academy Award nominations and Sean Penn's Screen Actors Guild win on Sunday, this weekend is as good a time as any for Focus Features to finally give "Milk" a bigger theatrical release.

The Gus Van Sant-directed drama, which also stars James Franco, Josh Brolin and Emile Hirsch, has been expanded to 882 theaters as of today - up from around 250 locations.

So far, the film has grossed just under $22 million domestically (as of Wednesday) and should have its best weekend yet!
