The return of my Aidan...

If you are a big "Sex and the City" fan, then you are either in the Mr. Big camp or the Aidan camp when it comes to the love of Carrie Bradshaw's life. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) obviously chose Big (Chris Noth) but I think she made a big mistake! She woulda been so much happier with the sweet Aidan, my dream man.

And, that brings me to the point of this post: Aidan is played by John Corbett, such a tall drink of water who first gained stardom on "Northern Exposure."

John, the real-life boyfriend of Bo Derek, is set to debut in a new series "The United States of Tara" opposite gay fave Toni Collette ("Muriel's Wedding," "Connie and Carla," "Little Miss Sunshine.").

I do believe this is the very talented Collette's first series. She plays a woman who struggles to find a balance between her dissociative identity disorder and raising a dysfunctional family. Corbett plays her hubby.

Boy, Carrie Bradshaw is a walk in the park compared to her!

Interesting little bit of trivia. Collette and Corbett have something in common: they starred opposite Nia Vardalas in the only two starring vehicles we have seen her in so far: John played her sweet fiancee in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" (he wisely passed on the follow-up TV series which was short-lived on CBS) and Toni played her singing partner in the cult fave "Connie and Carla." She and Nia were on the run from some bad guys after witnessing a crime and went undercover as drag queens!

"Tara" has some major talent involved behind the scenes too: Diablo Cody, the Oscar winning screenwriter of "Juno" is the creator and writer and the producer is some dude named Steven Spielberg.

I'm already sold.
