Thursday morning tune: Audrey Hepburn's "Moon River..."

If you have never watched "Breakfast at Tiffany's," then run, don't walk, to your nearest video store and rent it. I've seen it more times than I'm going to ever admit publicly and my favorite moment (aside from the shirtless scenes of a young and beautiful George Peppard) is when Audrey Hepburn's Holly Golightly sits in her windowsill with her guitar singing a lovely version of "Moon River." The studio wanted to cut the song from the movie but Hepburn, one of the biggest stars in the world at that time, fought tooth and nail for it to remain.

Enjoy...

You have every right to love this film. But Mickey Rooney's portrayal of the japanese landlord is shameful and insulting.

If this movie portrayed a similar level of stereotype of a gay person your fondness would be diminished, I'm sure.

Gay people are the first to holler "foul!" when they are portrayed negatively in the media, we should be more sensitive to the negative depiction of other minorities.
