Video: Bishop Gene Robinson tells "The Daily Show" a gay person can one day be president...

Openly gay Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson told Jon Stewart that he spoke with anti-gay Rev. Rick Warren yesterday morning before the controversial minister said the invocation at the inauguration.

Said Robinson: "He was very kind before we went out to the swearing in and I let him know - and I was sincere - that I was praying for him."

Stewart asked Robinson is a gay person might ever be president. He pointed out President Barack Obama's remark in his inaugural speech that his own father would not have been served lunch in Wash. DC sixty years ago because he was an African-American.

"I think for every Lesbian, gay, transgender and bisexual person...all we have to do is the hard work to get you there."

We already had a gay president. It was well known in D.C. that James Bucanan (sic) was gay. There are many letters that point to this. He lived with the same man for move than 20 years. He was a pretty bad president and got us into the Civil War but it is clear that he was gay.
