Wednesday morning tune: "We are the World..."

Oh, this takes ya back. Lionel Richie before Nicole, Michael Jackson when he was still, well, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen at his hottest, Paul Simon with most of his hair, a pre-facelifted Kenny Rogers, and an oh-so-young Cyndi Lauper. This is the video for "We Are the World" with proceeds going to USA for Africa. Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Huey Lewis, Kenny Loggins, Bob Dylan, Dionne Warwick, Ray Charles Steve Perry, Darryl Hall and John Oates, James Ingram, Al Jareau, and Kim Carnes also participated. In fact, there were so many stars there to record the song that Bette Midler, in her post-"The Rose" career lull, was not even given a solo part. Imagine that, the Divine one relegated to background vocals with Latoya Jackson!
