I'm not into this storyline at all because I didn't know Reg, I don't care about Reg, and I don't care who gave Reg bad drugs that killed him. But Luke cares and doing all he can to get justice...
I don't know about you, but if we're expected to care about a character who has died because someone sold him bad drugs, maybe we should've known the character a little bit better.
But that's just me. Anyway, here is today's clip...
These crazy kids are just all over the map. On Wednesday's show, their friend overdoses on drugs and poor Luke is distraught. Can't they just let that poor boy be happy for once! Below is last week's clip in which Luke and Noah talk, talk, and talk about moving in together. Noah, of course, isn't ready. I'm tellin' ya, Luke woulda been better off with his step-grandpa!
It seems to me that ever since Luke and Noah consumated their relationship last month, they've barely even had a scene together on "As the World Turns."
Anyway, Advocate.com has a new, exclusive interview with Van Hansis (Luke) and Jake Silbermann (Noah) and here are a few choice bits:
Advocate.com: Now that it's finally aired, how do you think Nuke's first sex scene played out?
Hansis: I think it was a natural progression for the characters at this point to sleep together. I think it's a good thing that they did. The time was right. It is important to show that they take it seriously. I am glad the fans are so happy because that is the most important thing.
Silbermann: I really liked the way the show handled it by not really having it with bells and whistles and fanfare...
Hansis: Also, it was exciting for the fans not to have any "spoilers" on it, because I know there was a big fan group waiting for this moment. In this day and age, to keep that a secret is pretty cool. I think the fans enjoyed being surprised and shocked."
Here's what I wanna know: what about Laurence Lau who played Brian and really made the show interesting for awhile?
Hansis: I think Larry is a fantastic actor! Every day he would go in and find his character's truth and make it as real as possible. I think his work in this story line was phenomenal!
Jake on when he found out Van would be his love interest on the show: "The first time I met Van was at the GLAAD awards a few years ago. I had just gotten the part a week prior, and now I am walking down the red carpet. It was lucky we had these "out of studio" chances to get to know each other, like the GLAAD awards, where I was such a deer in headlights. I was dazed with all the paparazzi. I grabbed onto Van's coattails!
Van's thoughts on working with Jake: "It's an honor to have someone I trust fully and completely. In a scene with Jake, I know that anything I do won't be judged, and I feel a freedom with him. I think Jake made an amazing point. If you are working with someone you don't like, or do not feel a connection to outside of work, just as friends, it makes it a lot harder. Going to work is then a blast, because I know I am going to be there with one of my best friends having a good time."
So sweet.

These are some scenes from Monday's show. All this fighting has gotta lead to some making up!
Today's episode was heavy on Luke and Noah as Casey and Allie scheme to get them back together by luring them to the hospital then locking them onto the roof! Egads. The boys rehash New Year's Eve and Luke kissing Brian. Says Luke: "I knew he wanted me. I wasn't so sure with you."
And back and forth etc.
Really, does Noah expect LKuke not to look for sexy lips elsewhere when he won't put out? C'mon! I'm not even convinced Noah is even gay. A guy his age should be lookig for action everywhere and anywhere if I recall correctly.
Anyway, Lucinda remains absolutely livid with her grandson and with Brian and Elizabeth Hubbard's performance remains Emmy-worthy. My only quibble is there was no Brian (Laurence Lau) in this episode. Please tell me we have not seen the last of him!
Jade and her big mouth. She and Lucinda get into an argument and she blurts out: "At least I don't have a gay husband!" Somehow, I just did not think this was how that was gonna play out. I predicted Lucinda's hubby Brian beginning a torrid affair with her grandson Luke and the carnage to just be catastrophic.
Lucinda (the great Elizabeth Hubbard) gave an Emmy-worthy performance today when confronting Brian (Laurence Lau): "I'm supposed to enter into this pact of denial? ... Our marriage is a lie! ...All the while I was dreaming about having sex with my husband, my new husband was dreaming about having sex with my grandson!"
Brian told Lucinda that he has had "these feelings all my life, it's part of who I am...I hope we can get past this."
Lucinda asks: 'Are ypou bisexual?"
Brian responds: "I don't like to use labels...I thought I had it under control, that I could deal with it."
Once Brian admits that yes, at the very moment, he is still attracted to Luke, Lucinda gives him his walking papers calmly saying: "Pack your stuiff. Get out. Go."
I love Lucinda's line whenb Lily says: "I know this is a shock."
Lucinda: "A shock? This is a catastrophe!"
Back to Luke (Van Hansis). Even though Lucinda has tossed Brian out, I don't for a minute believe it is the last we have seen of him. He and Luke had a close moment before Jade and her big mouth and when they shook hands, the sexual tension was palpable. Luke even defended Brian to Lily: "He's not a bad guy. He's a really good person except when it comes to sexuality. He's really messed up."
Hansis is a wonderful actor as is Lau and with the Luke and Noah storyline getting about as boring as watching paint dry, how exciting it would be to have Luke and Brian try and make a go of it. You'd have Noah's jealousy, mom and dad's disapproval; and best of all, Lucinda's fury.
Oh, the drama to come.
This is a doozy!!! So hapless Noah decides it's finally time for he and Luke to consumate their relationship after almost two years or so? Um, I'm not convinced Noah is even gay what with his Maddie and Ameera diversions. So long-suffering Luke gets drunk and starts making out with Brian. Sure, it's his grandmother's new husband and it is wrong in that sense. But who could blame him? Brian is an absolute babe.
You go Luke!
There's a storyline involving Jade who I don't give a rats about (even if she is held hostage!) and Maddie is back in town and I don't care about that either. But Luke and Noah are in these scenes and I feel it is my duty to post them! At the end, we finally get a sweet Luke and Noah scene.
Here are the Luke-Noah-Brian clips from yesterday's episode of "As the World Turns." I have not had the chance to watch them but I do know there's a Luke and Noah kiss somewhere in there. Frankly, I'd rather see a Luke and Brian kiss.
I was just blown away by the performances of Van Hansis (Luke) and Laurence Lau (Brian) on yesterday's episode of "As the World Turns." It was a heart-to-heart about Brian's attraction to Luke ("Of course I'm attracted to you, who wouldn't be") and Luke's anger and concern because Brian has just married his grandmother! This gave both actors a chance to shine and for their characters to come across as real human beings. It also signals that Luke and Brian could be way more interesting than Luke and Noah have become.
Let's face it, I'm so over Noah and I wish Luke would be too. But you know how young love is, you just can't see what is clear to everyone else. Anyhow, Luke's uncle had a bachelor party today and his grandma's new hubby, Brian, got real sauced. Noah shows up and starts defending Brian and Luke had a great snarky line: "Noah, why do you defend him? Just because he reminds you of the good ol' days when you were pretending to be straight?"
Anyway, Luke gives Brian a ride home and his hottie step-grandpa made the moves on him again. Luke finds him more resistable than I would and the episode ends with him snarling: "Consider this a warning: if you ever come on to me again, I will tell you (my grandmother) everything."
Afterelton.com live-blogged the episide.
Luke as a lush is a lot more fun than Luke as Noah's doormat!
On today's episode of "As the World Turns," Noah was nowhere to be found which was fine with me! Luke was all drunk (what else is new?) and Brian once again tries to "help" him. Enjoy today's scenes!
It's Thanksgiving at the Snyder farm and Luke is an alcoholic mess.
See what happened the morning after Luke was given an unexpected and unwelcomed kiss...
I confess, with all the activity surrounding Prop. 8, I have not been watching much television with many of my favorite guilty pleasures like "Brothers & Sisters," "Desperate Housewives," "Gossip Girl" and "As The World Turns" falling by the wayside for now.
Thankfully, I can keep up with them through AfterElton.com where I found Wednesday's stunning clip from "As the World Turns." Luke's (Van Hansis) life is a mess. He's been expelled from college after cheating in the election for student body president (boyfirend Noah (Jake Silbermann) turned him in!) and now he's drinking again. That's a lotta drama - but that's not all! His grandma married the handsome Brian Wheatley (the handsome Laurence Lau) who, it turns out, is a big closet case! And after marrying grandma, Brian encounters a wasted Luke, gets him cleaned up and as Luke cries about how it all went wrong, Brian comforts him then ... kisses him passionately!
OMG!!!
Well, whaddaya know, "As the World Turns" is worth keeping an eye on again for Luke and Noah fans. Today's episode (Go to AfterElton.com for extended coverage) featured decent plot developments and some above average material for Van Hansis and Jake Silbermann to sink their teeth into. Hansis is a wonderful actor, seems so natural and real in all that he does. He wants to challenge first crush Kevin for student body president. When Noah wonders if there are ulterior motives, Luke says sarcastically: "If I can beat Kevin and make him cry like a little girl, my life would be complete."
Earlier, Luke introduces Kevin to Noah at the coffee house and Noah later says to his boyfriend: "That's him? The one you were in love with in high school? ... He has clammy hands."
Episodes like this show that these actors deserve more screen time and are far more effective in believable situations like battling discrimination on their college campus than the off-the-wall stuff like Noah marrying an Iranian girl or deciding to join the Navy.
Enjoy the scenes!
Because frankly, the whole thing is kinda boring now. Why should Luke's parents get to have all the fun? p.s. I'm used to the new Lily now. I like her.
Hey, I'm not sure what is going on here but Luke and Noah could do a lot worse than to have to share a tent with gorgeous Lawrence Lau! I have not yet had a chance to watch the latest clip from "As The World Turns" but diod want to post it here for you.
Enjoy!
