Ed Westwick wants to make it clear that he and his "Gossip Girl" co-star Chace Crawford are not lovers. Here's what he says in the weekend edition of Page Six Magazine:
"People think Chace is gay, and thought I was gay, that we were humping. It's not true, but hilarious. People project their fantasies onto people. I've never been someone who makes it my objective to go out and pick up chicks. But I've met some fantastic ladies here. You know those amazing conversations where you find yourself in a café talking until 2 a.m. and never see them again."
Well, I guess that settles that!
"Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford gives an interview to the British newspaper The Independent about the show and other topics. Here is the part where the article addresses all the gay stuff:
He says he laughed off rumors that he and co-star Ed Westwick are having a fling. (Crawford was also romantically linked to JC Chasez, though both vehemently deny gay rumors.) "It's kind of funny," Crawford tells the paper. "I guess some people assume there's a seed of truth to it. People think where there's smoke, there's fire." He says he wasn't sure who started the rumors -- and doesn't care. "I just don't even want to speculate on that. It's just one of those things that rolls off my back," Crawford says. "There's not one seed of truth to it, so it'll just go away in the end."
There was a time, not that long ago, when "Gossip Girl" cutie pie Chace Crawford and former N Sync band member JC Chasez seemed inseparable. They were thick as thieves at Elton John's Oscar bash and other places and everyone was abuzz. Now, we don't see them together - probably just due to busy schedules?
Chace was asked about the gay rumors in an interview with Metro.Co.UK
Here is some of the interview:
Q. A number of gossip websites have been speculating about your sexuality. How do you deal with that?
A. You've got to laugh it off. You haven't made it unless there's been a gay rumour about you. There are so many fabrications. They take your picture with someone and then say you're having a relationship with them. I let it roll off my back.
Q. So you're not having a secret gay fling with ex-'N Sync singer JC Chasez?
A.No, of course not.
Q. Do you have a favourite 'N Sync song?
A. No, I don't.
Chace who? Penn Badgely shows in this video for InStyle that he not only looks smoking hot in a wet T-shirt, he is also smart and sexy. Take a look.
Chace Crawford, seen here in a GQ photo shoot, tells the magazine that gay rumors are all part of being rich and famous. The rumors about the "Gossip Girl" pretty boy were rampant a few months back when he was photographed a lot with singer JC Chazez who has denied being gay or that they are more than platonic friends.
Chace told GQ in its June issue said of these kinds of rumors "Hey, if there's a gay rumor, you know you've made it."
That's a refreshing attitude. We're seeing more and more hot young stars very non-chalant about gay rumors but, I think, those are the ones who are not gay. The ones in the closet probably have very thin skins about that kind of speculation!

In his first interview since the show aired, PEOPLE.com spoke with Connor Paolo, 17, who plays Eric and asked him about portraying a gay teenager on television.
How does it feel to be playing a gay character on a popular TV show?
I'm an actor and it's a part. Being gay is nothing but another way to live your life. It's just who he is.
A lot of gay teens will be excited to see someone gay on the show. Are you ready for that?
I guess it's a possibility that fans could take Eric's coming into his own as a source of inspiration. He does it with a degree of gentility and self-respect. He doesn't make apologies for who he is.
Here is a clip from last night's shoiw when Eric comes out in front of everyone:
Did the fact that he tried to kill himself earlier have anything to do with being gay?
As the actor portraying Eric, I don't believe that I tried to commit suicide because of that. Eric is 14 so his decision to be gay could be permanent. It might not be. It's about finding yourself. At the moment, this is who he sees himself as ... that's very empowering.
How will the other characters react to the news? Everyone okay with it?
Each character has their own reaction. It does seem to create a rift between me and Jenny. Chuck steps up as big brother though.
So this brings out the nicer side of Chuck?
Eric's relationship with Chuck is a vehicle for seeing that he does have a good side. He can be a good person when duty calls. Chuck seems to really care about Eric. It's a time when Eric feels very alone. Chuck does not push him away as many other people are inclined to do. Eric gets to have a good time with Chuck. Most people have been coddling him because they think he's a suicide risk, Chuck is totally open to let Eric enjoy his life rather than try to preserve it.
When did you find out your character was gay?
I was told about a month ago. Two of the producers explained the situation. It seemed like a good thing. Up to this point, I've had a volatile role on the show. Sometimes, I'm there. Sometimes, I'm not. It's the producers giving me more screen time and a chance to prove myself as an actor -- so I wanted to make sure I delivered.
What helped you prepare for this episode?
I feel like I know Eric better than most people so I drew on my knowledge of the character. I did have some conversations with Stephanie [Savage, the executive producer] and Joe [Lazarov, also a producer] working out the ins and outs of how this developed.
Even though it was not revealed - as had been expected - on Monday night's episode of "Gossip Girl" which of the male teen characters is gay, we know that it is golden girl Serena's little brother, Eric van der Woodsen (played by Connor Paolo).
What I really love is how we are supposed to find out! According to several reports, the little cutie pie in gonna get caught making out with one of the other male characters on the show. This could be the best coming out since Andrew Van de Kamp (Shawn Pyfrom) was caught by Teri Hatcher's character kissing another boy in the swimming pool during the first season of "Desperate Housewives."
Anyway, read after the jump to see who Eric is gonna lock lips with!
I got a real kick out of the current New York Magazine cover piece about my favorite guilty pleasure "Gossip Girl" which returns to the CW tonight with an original episode. Here are a few excerpts from the article co-written by Jessica Pressler and Chris Rovzar:
One time we played hooky from work for an hour and skip-walked all the way from our offices in far west Soho to the East Village to catch a scene of the show being filmed. Technically, we're a little old for Gossip Girl--our own high-school experience was kind of a while ago. Like, 90210-was-still-on-the-air a while ago. But it's not just tweenage girls who are hooked on the show.
At first we cloaked our adoration in irony. "It's awesomely bad," we explained to friends. "You know, like Showgirls. Or a Bloomin' Onion." But before long we were covering the show pretty much exhaustively on the Daily Intelligencer, the blog we write on nymag.com. And then a funny thing happened: E-mails and texts from fans of all ages began filling our in-boxes. "S. at Cafe Gitane, not with Lonely Boy!" read one text, from a 28-year-old marketing executive. "OMG!" we texted back. "Is she cheating?" "No, he is a gay." (Translation: Blake Lively, who plays Serena van der Woodsen, was spotted with someone other than Penn Badgley, who plays her onscreen boyfriend and whom she's rumored to be dating in real life. The "he" who is "a gay" is just some guy who looked that way to the texter.) The more we wrote about Gossip Girl, the more its radically invested fan base began to reveal itself to us. We were like a support group for the fully grown, employed, non-pervert adult fans of the show.
But there should be no shame in a love of Gossip Girl. After all, it is (and we have come to this conclusion honestly) the most awesomely awesome show ever
Chace Crawford on after he started dating Carrie Underwood. "I wasn't ready for all that craziness," he admitted. "I didn't realize what that was going to entail." Chace and Carrie recently broke up--gloriously, by text message--but the damage had been done. Paparazzi began following him on errands, someone posted his home address in Chelsea, and every little photo op became a gossip story. Rumors that he was dating singer JC Chasez grew so insistent that the actor has been forced to deny his alleged gaydom. (They share a manager, he explains in exasperation, who occasionally arranges for them to appear at the same events.)
After Chace and Ed Westwick were spotted going to Best Buy to pick up movies together, Ed also had to deny to the Daily News that he was dating Chace. (Well, they did get Little Miss Sunshine.)
It's true: Ed and Chace aren't dating. It's better. They're roommates.
Here is a LINK to the entire article...Enjoy!

The return of new epidodes of "Gossip Girl" on Monday nights means the return of cutie pie Chace Crawford! I'm as happy as a clam at high tide...

I never really thought they were but it's been so much fun speculating!
JC Chasez told Kiss-FM 104.7 that he and Chace Crawford are not involved romantically: "For the record, we're both straight...We're not dating." He called Chace a "super nice guy" -- and says the reason think they're boyfriends is "the only time people usually see us together is in some type of photograph, so they just assume that it's like that."
So it's a bro-mance, not a romance apparently.

I just love all the suspense. TV Guide's Michael Ausiello has broken the news that when "Gossip Girl" returns to the air next month, one of the characters will be revealed to be gay. Michael writes:
I'm hearing from an extremely reliable source that a male character on Gossip Girl will be revealed to be of the gay persuasion when the show returns on April 21. Who? Can't say. Won't say. It's too good a surprise. I will, however, offer five tantalizing clues.
• This person may or may not be pictured above.
• The revelation significantly impacts the lives of at least three people.
• The aftershocks will be felt on both sides of the East River.
• Some viewers will be surprised by the twist, others not so much.
• In the Gossip Girl novels, Dan was known to be a bit of a switch-hitter -- which isn't so much a clue as it is a fact. A misleading fact? Perhaps. Perhaps not.
Greg's verdict: It's gonna be the little brother of Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively). While it would be lovely if Chace Crawford or Penn Badgley were the one (I don't care about the other dude), all are very heterosexual up to now. Badgley's character of Dan is gay in the books on which the series is based but he is just way too in love with Serena to be gay on the show.

But Eric van der Woodsen (Connor Paolo) survived a suicide attempt and could easily be gay. We'd like to think that teens today had it easier than when we were kids and wouldn't have such hopeless feelings. But, obviously, it' a case-by-case basis with so many different factors coming into play. I just hope the little brother comes out as proud and gets a hot boyfriend in a future episode!

Haven't they ever seen an adorably cute TV star at LAX before? Sheesh! OK, if Chace Crawford walked by me at the airport - or anywhere else - I'd probably stare a little bit too!

Chace Crawford and the rest of the cast of "Gossip Girl" are back to work shooting new episodes. JustJared.com had gobs of new pics of Chace and Co. (did I really just write 'gobs'?)

JC Chasez and Chace Crawford have been hanging out a lot in recent weeks and make no secret of it. Wouldn 't it be great if they just said to heck with it and started making out in the middle of the airport terminal?
Oh well. just a thought. For now, and maybe forever, they are our new Matthew McConaughey and Lance Armstrong since that once celebrated bro-mance has cooled. These unlikely best buds, who hung out all night at Elton John's Oscar night party, are seen at the airport leaving for (or from) a trip to Vegas.
Remember, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!

And it's not even my birthday.
Just read in USA Today that my favorite new show, "Gossip Girl," will resume production in a few weeks now that the writers strike is over and Hollywood is back in business. Hooray! Producer Josh Schwartz says there will be 5-6 new episodes airing this spring and more might be produced for airing in late summer.
Says Schwartz: "The missive from the network was, 'How fast and how many?'"

...they're just on a magazine cover. You didn't think I meant actually coming out did ya? This dashing trio of Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, and Ed Westwick grace Out Magazine's fashion issue and in an accompanying article, features editor Bill Keith goes in search of the elusive explanation for how this show -- from OC creator Josh Schwartz -- became such a camp gay classic-in-the-making.
He writes:
The thought of returning to high school is a harrowing one for most gay men, but being able to look at adolescence through a lens that idealizes everyone as insanely wealthy, impossibly gorgeous, and improbably well-spoken is like porn. And don't worry -- they're all legal. Barely....
It's like Sex and the City without all the hand-wringing over infertility, breast cancer, and other trappings of female aging. In fact, Gossip Girl owes far more to Sex and the City and even Dynasty than teen dramas like Beverly Hills, 90210 and The O.C..

One of my favorite new shows concludes tonight with the writer's strike depriving us of further adventures of these high schoolers living and loving and backstabbing in Manhattan...

Chace Crawford (here with a "Gossip Girl" co-star) didn't go shirtless for any old recent in the most recent episode of the hit CW show. It was all in service to the plot which had the kids on the show sneaking into the swimming pool at their high school late at night for an unauthorized swim party. Before things got ugly, we were treated to something beautiful: Chace!

Sorry for the lack of fresh posts today. First, I was on SAG Award duty then we had our office potluck then I had to drive over to the plastic surgeon to get some lipo because I ate too much. But now, I'm back, and all yours...
So, I'm feeling really happy because my pal and co-worker Sue told me at the potluck that she checked out "Gossip Girl" last night after I talked it up to her and she loved it! That girl Sue has great taste. So, JustJared.com has more pics of the cute guys from "Gossip Girl" from their appearance this week on TRL. Chace Crawford (below) was not in last night's episode but Penn Bradley was and was his usual funny, cute and charming self.

As if I wasn't already excited enough about a new episode of "Gossip Girl" airing tonight (yes, I need to be sent to a clinic), just read on AfterElton.com that this is the episode where we get to meet Blair's gay dad! I'm not sure which man in the photo below is her daddy but I'm guessing the dude on the left. AE.com writes that the dad surprises the family by making his boyfriend a part of the celebration. Blair being Blair schemes to prevent this from happening.
I. Can't. Wait.

Here is a slip fro the most recent episode:

I'm not sure if Ed Westwick doesn't really send me because his character on the CW's "Gossip Girl" is so loathsome or what. At any rate, I'm crazy about Penn Badley (center) who is the heart of the show as he mixes humor with sexiness. Then there's our pretty boy Chace Crawford who has a bit of a beard that I'm not crazy about but hey, I'd still buy him a drink anytime, anywhere.
This trio was on TRL yesterday...
