Better late than never. Had some drama with my photo card and feared these photos would be lost forever. But, here they are!
The Sept. 21 Emmy Awards were great fun - at least the red carpet was! I know the show itself was lacking but it's nothing a good host can't fix. Just pick a comedian, puleeze! Anyway, I had free reign on the red carpet so I was able to get all kinds of exclusive photos. Well, they look a lot like the ones you see in all the magazines but just know that I took them all with Out In Hollywood readers in mind (that probably explains why there are so many pics of Mario Lopez!)
Speaking of Mario Lopez, he really suits his new role as anchor of "Extra" so well. Every big star on the red carpet made sure to stop by Mario's booth includiing "How i Met Mother" nominee Neil Patrick Harris who, in ,my opinion, was robbed of his first Emmy win by Jeremy Piven who took home his third in a row. Gimme a break. Enough!
As Neil Patrick Harris did interviews, I hung out with his adorable boyfriend David Burtka for awhile. They seem very supportive of each other and made a very handsome couple on Emmy day.
Lee Pace, nominated for "Pushing Daisies," gave me a sorta smile after he got interviewed by Joey Fatone and Lisa Rinna for TV Guide Channel. Lee is an absolute dreamboat don't you think?
Speaking of dreamboats, David Boreanaz was one of the most dapper dudes on the red carpet. I managed to snap a photo of him. The rest of the time, I was just sorta staring at him.
I snapped a photo of Kathie Lee Gifford waving to me but am sharing this one with you instead because it's got Kathy Griffin in it!
Kathie Lee and her "Today Show" co-host Hoda Kotb chatted up all the big stars but didn't get any special digs.
They had to stand out there in the hot sun behind a velvet rope just like most of the rest of the media while "Access Hollywood," "Entertainment Tonight," "The Insider," "Extra," "TV Guide Channel" and "E!" had fancy booths with staircaises etc.
It was one of those elaborate booths that caused the most horrifying moment on the red carpet. The legendary Mary Tyler Moore (seen here leaving the 'Access Hollywood' booth with Cloris Leachman) later slipped on the top step of the "Insider' booth and fell down hard. I was about 15 feet away, saw it happen, and felt awful until near the end of the show when I saw Mary walk out on the stage, smiling, and paying tribute to her friend Betty White.
The star of the classic sitcoms "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "The Dick Van Dyke Show," is a seven-time Emmy winner and is doing a series of guest spots on NBC's "Lipstick Jungle" as Brooke Shields' mother.
And speaking of Brooke Shields (don't ya just love my silly segues?), here she is with Mario Lopez (Him? Again?). I have noticed this the three times I've seen Brooke Shields in person: she is even more beautiful in person than on television. And she carries herself with such class and grace. I'm a big fan.
Here is the glorious Mary-Louise Parker, the Emmy nominated star of "Weeds" who probably deserved the Emmy more than Tina Fey. The night before, I iinterviewed Mary-Louise at a pre-Emmy party and she had on dramatic make-up and a super lowcut dress. She changed her look dramatically for the actual ceremony. I thought she looked senesational both times!
AFTER THE JUMP: Teri Hatcher, Jeff Probst,Mariska Hargitay, Steve Carell,Daniel Dae KimJohn Krazincki and probably more Mario Lopez! Keep reading...

I gotta say, this was the most fun that I've ever had at the Academy Awards. It was just one of those years that was filled with good vibes. good interviews and a lot of excitement. It's days like this that make me so grateful for what I do and to be able to have the opportunities to have a front row seat to some of these big Hollywood events. I am so not over it! I wanted to share with you some of the snapshots I took while on the red carpet. Some aren't the best because I was juggling a tape recorder, cell phone and camera kinda all at once.
At the National Gay and Lesbian Journalists Assn. convention, which ended in San Diego on Sunday, Johnny Diaz of the Boston Globe and Kenneth Walsh of The New York Times and I got to be so tight that Johnny nicknamed us "Los Tres Blogeros." In addition to our newspaper duties, we are all also bloggers with Kenneth responsible for the smart and witty KennethInthe212.com and Johnny writing the thoughtful Beantown Cuban blog.
I snagged some pictures off of Kenneth's site of some of our time together to post as well as a few of my own snaps. I'm glad there is no photographic evidence of our first night together on Thursday where I was wearing blindingly white tennis shoes that Mr. Walsh found quite amusing.

Here we are in San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood on Friday night having dinner at Mo's which everyone knows is Hamburger Mary's. Not sure why the name change. While there, the wonderful Eric Alva stopped by to say hello. He had spoken at the NLGJA conference earlier about gays in the military. Eric, a former Marine, was the first to be injured in the Iraq War. President Bush and Donald Rumsfield were among those who visited him in the hospital. I wonder how they felt when, months later, Eric came out as a gay man and began working with the Human Rights Campaign to repeal 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

It was tough to get a clean shot of Sen. Clinton even from 10 feet away...but here are a few that turned out OK.
What made the LGBT Presidential Forum so special yesterday was not only having our issues focused on for an entire evening, but watching the event at The Abbey with thousands of other people who, like me, have watched this country sink so low under our current president and his administration. We want someone who is smart in the Oval Office, has good intentions and can actually work with people to get somethng done.. No one is perfect, Hillary Clinton included. But her work as a New York senator has been widely seen as highly effective and I liked what I saw last night both at the forum and at the party afterward at The Abbey where she was embraced by a very supportive crowd. Some wonder why gays seem to be leaning toward Clinton when she hasn't even come out in full support of gay marriage. I think it's because we think she can really win AND because so many in the LGBT community have been underdogs and fought for their place in the world. We identify with her desire to break down barriers.
I got caught up in the fever and posed with a Clinton for President sign. I'm not officially endorsing her, yet, but am probably on my way...
This is a cool guy, Kyle Taylor (left), and his friend (sorry, forgot the name of friend), who I watched much of the forum with. It's nice to make new friends...
And last, but not at all least, this is me last night with my favorite bartender at The Abbey, Matt. He makes a terrific lemon drop martini and it doesn't hurt that he is movie star handsome...and very sweet.
Earlier post: HillaryClinton at The Abbey was a hot ticket...
Now here's a trio of actors who are not only damned good looking, but also damned talented. They are Steve Callahan, Rene Alvarado and Cory Schneider - the stars of "East Side Story" written and directed by Carlos Portugal. Their movie will screen next Sunday at the festival and my interviews with them will be posted sometime next week. These three are currently on the cover of IN Los Angeles Magazine which features an interview with Portugal inside.
These are some of the talent involved in the surfing gay love story pic "Shelter" which I'm sure will end up being one of the most popular films of the festival. From left to right are leading man Trevor Wright who is astoundingly good in the film, the very talented witer-director Jonah Markowitz and the very cute Ross Thomas who co-stars in "Shelter" as the understanding best friend of Wright's gay character.
Could they BE any better looking? Reichen Lemkuhl and his new boyfriend made the opening night scene. Reichen got good reviews for his "Dante's Cove" performance from fellow cast members I talked to last night. Season 3 premieres in October.
Robert Gant co-starred and co-produced the night's superb opening night film "Save Me" along with Chad Allen and Judith Light.
Judith Light should win a slew of awards for her sensational performance in "Save Me." Here she is with Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott. Tori was first to take the stage at the Orpheum Theater in downtown LA and welcomed the crowd. At the afterparty, she worked the crowd.
Hello Jensen Atwood...he's one of the hot new additions to the cast of "Dante's Cove." But we already know hom from "Noah's Arc." He arrives at Outfest 2007 looking like a million bucks...
After interviewing virtually all of the cast of "Dante's Cove" in the past year, I finally got to meet William Gregory Lee who plays Ambrosias on the show. I will post our chat sometime next week.
Three of the hunky cast members of "Dante's Cove." They just wreapped filming of season three and tell me it will be hotter than ever. Here are Jon Fleming, Jensen Atwood and Gregory Michael...
Doing this blog has led to my meeting all kinds of terrific gay people in the public eye, and a lot of straight allies who do so much for the world. Here is a sampling of some of my more memorable encounters...

Got to interview Neil Patrick Harris at this year's GLAAD Awards but we actually met for the first time in fall 2006 at the DVD party for "9 to 5" also attended by Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton. I was so happy when he came out publicly not too long after that...And T.R. Knight was as nice as could be when we met at the GLAAD Awards (below). A year earlier, I had brushed off the chance to chat with him on the red carpet of the SAG Awards because I spotted Mark Valley coming my way. Tsk, Tsk...

For more pics of me with some of the peeps I've met while doing this blog, keep reading...
I tell ya, it's not easy juggling three dates in one night. But when they are as handsome and sweet as Matthew Rhys, T.R. Knight and Eric Mabius, you pretty much gotta give it your best shot. OK, I'll break out of my little fantasy and simply share with you some photos I snapped at the GLAAD Awards last night with a little throwaway camera I bought at the Rite-Aid on my way to the festivities.

First Scotty...then Chad...then...Greg?
Look! It's Shawn Pyfrom (Andrew on "Desperate Housewives" and, of course, Mr. Neil Patrick Harris!
The funniest man at the Kodak Theater Saturday night: Alec Mapa! Love him!
Jason Lewis is even better looking in person...and look at Darryl Stephens! He sure is buffed up these days!
The three leads in "Boy Culture" worked the red carpet together with their director. I interviewed all together on the phone last month so it was nice to meet most of them face-to-face for the first time.
Neil Patrick Harris gabs with one of my [pretend] dates, Matthew Rhys. Hands off bitch!
"Brothers & Sisters" cast member Dave Annable stopped by for a chat as Patricia Wettig, Ron Rifkin and Matthew Rhys worked the red carpet as a trio...

All of this ugliness involving a certain homophobic former NBA player has me in a bad mood. I need cheering up and if any of you do too, then I offer you these fun pictures that I came across the other day: actors Christopher Meloni and Lee Tergeson, who played lovers on the late, great prison drama "OZ." They appeared very close as they arrived at the 2000 GLAAD Awards then later, they seemed to be re-enacting some of their love scenes.

How nice to see these two terrific actors, who displayed such memorable on-screen chemistry, enjoying each other and not being at all uptight about playing gay on screen. Now, I want to know why Jake and Heath didn't behave this way at award shows last year! That might've added several millions to the gross of "Brokeback Mountain!"

Monday's Oscar nominees luncheon was unbelievably fun and I'm glad I brought a camera. I tried to get a picture of, or with anyone I chatted with and am glad to have figured out how to download the pics for the blog. To read my account of the luncheon, see My Lunch with DiCaprio, Hudson and Wahlberg and Oscar nominees lunch: the stars arrive. There will be photo galleries of past events posted in the coming weeks and days and hopefully, more from future events. I've been bringing you my words these past seven months, now I'm going to bring you more of my pistures too. Enjoy!
