Greg's Photo Galleries: September 2007 Archives
At the National Gay and Lesbian Journalists Assn. convention, which ended in San Diego on Sunday, Johnny Diaz of the Boston Globe and Kenneth Walsh of The New York Times and I got to be so tight that Johnny nicknamed us "Los Tres Blogeros." In addition to our newspaper duties, we are all also bloggers with Kenneth responsible for the smart and witty KennethInthe212.com and Johnny writing the thoughtful Beantown Cuban blog.
I snagged some pictures off of Kenneth's site of some of our time together to post as well as a few of my own snaps. I'm glad there is no photographic evidence of our first night together on Thursday where I was wearing blindingly white tennis shoes that Mr. Walsh found quite amusing.

Here we are in San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood on Friday night having dinner at Mo's which everyone knows is Hamburger Mary's. Not sure why the name change. While there, the wonderful Eric Alva stopped by to say hello. He had spoken at the NLGJA conference earlier about gays in the military. Eric, a former Marine, was the first to be injured in the Iraq War. President Bush and Donald Rumsfield were among those who visited him in the hospital. I wonder how they felt when, months later, Eric came out as a gay man and began working with the Human Rights Campaign to repeal 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
