Heartthrobs: May 2008 Archives

Jensen Atwood is one of the sexiest actors around and he has broken through as an actor by playing gay or bisexual roles in two hot shows: Logo's "Noah's Arc," currently being made into a feature film; and Here!TV's "Dante's Cove" which he really spiced up last season.

Via his MySpace page, Jensen has just released the cover of his 2009 Calendar. It's available June 3 and can be pre-ordered at: www. menoferos. He hasn't released any of the inside shots yet that I know of but I'm figuring we'll be getting the kind of beefcake shots (at left is a publicity still from "Dante's) that we've come to expect from this stunningly beautiful man.

It's a new honor I just created after spotting this picture of Warren Beatty on a new friend's MySpace page. Can you believe how beautiful this man was? I'm guessing this is mid-to-late 60s. Anyone know when this was taken? It shows that before he became an Academy Award winning director ("Reds"), married Annette Benning and slowed down professionally to raise their four kids, he was just a breathtaking young movie star.

At first glance, this may look like some gratuitous beefcake shot designed to drive up this site's hits. Nothing could be further from the truth! I post this beautiful picture of actor Sean Faris because it is part of The Everyman Campaign run by The Institute of Cancer Research to raise awareness of, and funds for research into, male cancer.

I interviewed Sean, the star of the recent film "Never Back Down," a few months back. He was fully-clothed then! Here is a LINK.

Patrick Dempsey, whose big-screen comedy "Made of Honor" finished in fourth place this weekend, seems to be everywhere these days...and I love it! Is there a man more perfectly suited for the cover of Men's Vogue than "Grey's Anatomy's" Dr. McDreamy?

While "Enchanted" made Patrick a movie star again, just for kicks you should rent "Loverboy" and see how adorable and funny he was as a young star in the late-80s. Kate Jackson of "Charlie's Angels" played his mother! Here's the trailer:

Noel was awfully cute, but ya kinda understood why "Felicity" picked Ben and why she followed him across the country to NYC like a stalker! The actor who played Ben, Scott Speedman, is as cute as he ever was as you can see from these two pics of him riding a bike around town.

It's tough to call him the Anna Kournakova of men's professional tennis since Jan-Michael Gambill actually did win some tournaments in his career. But he did have model looks, as did Anna, and was a fan fave.

I think Jan-Michael (yeah, he's named after the actor Jan-Michael Vincent - I'm sure it seemed like a good idea at the time!) is still trying to qualify for some events but his ranking is in the triple-digits.

And yet, could be BE any more gorgeous? This shot is from a series of new pics just posted on the OhLaLaMag blog that I suggest you check out. I saw Jan-Michael play at the summer tournament held at UCLA and one day, got there plenty early where I found him practicing shirtless on center court. It had happened a few years earlier with Patrick Rafter so I knew the drill. I planted myself in the front row and snapped off about half a roll of pictures. I'm sure they are somewhere - this is before everyone had digital.

...But Cameron Mathison is such a workout king, he'll burn those donuts off in no time. He was snapped in NYC on Friday where he tapes "All My Children." Cameron not only shined on "Dancing With the Stars" last fall, he has also proven to be a very charming TV host - so much so that he is my pick to replace Ryan Seacrest on "American Idol" should they ever decide to make a change.

AfterElton.com is conducting its 100 Hottest Men poll for the second year (last year, Jake Gyllenhaal was number one!) and I encourage you to go to their site to vote for your faves. It's always interesting to see who gay and bisexual men find most attractive compared to People magazine.

I've given it some thought and come up with a top 12 list of guys (just couldn't stop at 10!) who I think are complete dreamboats. This list is in alphabetical order - they are all first-place to me.

John Barrowman: The television and stage star who is beautiful, multi-talented, smart, witty and gloriously out.

Robert Buckley, actor who appears in NBC's "Lipstick Jungle" and seems to have burned all of his shirts!

Steve Callahan, out actor who stars in "East Side Story" and "Nine Lives" who is very talented on-screen and a sweet and thoughtful person off-screen. He appears next in "Pornography: A Thriller."

Chris Cuomo, dreamy news anchor of "Good Morning America" who is an ideal mix of brawn and brains

Matthew Fox, the star of "Lost" and such movies as "We Are Marshall," "Vantage Point" and now "Speed Racer." He's my favorite Alpha male on television!

Djimon Hounsou, two-time Oscar nominee ("Blood Diamond" and "In America:) and underwear model for Calvin Klein. Not only is he hot, he is a brilliant actor - one of the best of his generation.

Mario Lopez, actor, host, dancer who has a body and dimples to die for and doesn't hesitate the put it all on display.

Luke MacFarlane, out actor who plays gay man on "Brothers & Sisters" and is the kinda gfuy you wanna bring home to mom.

Emmett Miller, anchor of LA's KTLA Evening News who I sometimes am so busy staring at, I lose track of the stories he's talking about.

Rafael Nadal, the world's second-ranked tennis player

Gavin Newsom, the gay-friendly mayor of San Francisco whose gorgeous eyes would make anybody swoon.

Tuc Watkins, actor who plays gay on "Desperate Housewives" and straight on "One Life to Live." He combines handsome leading man looks with terrific comedic skills.

...oh yes! It's him, again! It is Robert Buckley in another series of shirtless shots featured on the A Socialite's Life site which describes the "Lipstick Jungle" star as "hot guy bliss." No arguements here!

I'm pretty much over these reality shows that have a big group of women trying to win the heart of one hot guy. C'mon! We all know these things don't work out and it's all a buncha tacky TV. But that doesn't mean I can't point out just how very attractive the make object of affection is on the CW's "Farmer Wants a Wife." His name is Matt Neustadt and from what I've read, he doesn't like to wear a shirt!
