The legacy of Lyman Bostock

| | Comments (1) |

Click hereto read a story I wrote today on Lyman Bostock, the ex-CSUN and ex-Angels baseball player who was tragically murdered 30 years ago today. Click hereto read an excerpt on Tom Hoffarth's blog. He talked to Dick Enberg, who was an assistant baseball coach at CSUN. Bostock was on the Northridge's 1972 team that made the Division II World Series but lost to Florida Southern, 5-1.

I heard his story told on AM 830 (Angels station) one day early last week and it really interested me. probably the same day you posted this. I remember hearing about him before but never knew the full story since I was pretty young at the time.

various people have said Bostock was just a phenominal talent and destined to be a star at the MLB level. his results in his rookie year demonstrate this was probably true. it's a real tragedy he never got to fulfill that talent but we'll always remember his name and think how well he did to make it that far.
