Star power? Get real...
This from Star-News reporter Molly Okeon:

Former Saturday Night Live cast member Nora Dunn, who was on the popular late-night show from 1985-1990, is apparently a reader of the Pasadena Star-News.
In a scathing voicemail, the comedian - known for her role as one of the sickeningly sweet "Sweeney Sisters" in a classic SNL sketch with cast member Jan Hooks - took off her smile and put on the gloves, asking, "Do you even pick up the phone and call people when you write these articles?"
Nora was peeved about a Feb. 21 story Councilman "shocked" by recall papers which mentioned the Sierra Madre's Downtown Specific Plan. Nora complained that this and other articles about the plan reference the fact it's currently in rough draft form.
"It's a plan, it's a plan," she exclaims repeatedly on the voicemail.
Nora was also miffed the article said there was no environmental impact report completed for the plan when in fact, she says, there is one.
But she's wrong on both counts: The plan, while it is a plan, is not a completed plan, and is - in fact - still a draft, according to Sierra Madre Mayor John Buchanan.
The mayor also confirms there has been no environmental impact report completed for the plan.
Turns out, Nora doesn't even live in Sierra Madre, he adds.
Her brother, actor Kevin Dunn, has made his presence known as a vocal resident at City Council meetings and as an active member of Sierra Madre Residents for Responsible Development (SMRRD). The group has sought to ax the Downtown Specific Plan, saying it would allow for overdevelopment in the city's downtown and disrupt its Mayberry-like atmosphere.
